This sob, it's not as big as it looks, actually decently sized unlike the G-shock. Like the thermometer, compass, barometer, and love that it's Solar powered. I don't even try to keep it charged but even ambient light charges it apparently, it has a battery indicator and it's always full.

Most people have no idea about watches, they just see a metallic watch and may like the fact that it's mechanical, but that's the end of the story.
And for what invicta is, that piece is quite discreet, so only a rich snob or an autist would ree over that.

TL;DR, any brands other than Deep Blue for dive watches I should look into?

I find myself repeatedly going back to Deep Blue simply for value. I can get a watch for sub $300 that has an automatic movement, sapphire crystal, and ceramic/sapphire bezel, tritium markers (although I prefer standard lume) and I can't find anyone else who can come close to touching that for less than $700. But I need something else. I've got 3 fucking Deep Blue's out of the 5 that I own.

I like the look of Steinhart and H2o watches but I'm not dropping $1500 for a watch. I'm just not *that* into watches.

The DJ is a classic but I'd recommend an OP 39. I love how simple and clean the design is - looks good with everything from a t-shirt to a three-piece suit. I was about to buy the white dial version until the kung flu cut my income nearly in half. It's still on the list though.

seagull just cloned the nh35. they brought them for a while, but just copied it in the end.
invicta makes hideous watches for tasteless Russians. assembled to meet the bare minimum requirements to say swiss made on it. their best work is litteraly a submariner knockoff with a seiko movement. might as well get a seagull at that point, at least you won't look like you're trying to fake something.
