Anons, being a complete autist is hard, so I decided to buy frags from only one designer/house as I feel that I get too carried away looking at fragrances which I would probably never buy. Which one would you recommend the most, taking into consideration tendecies to reformulate(like how ysl do), future acquisition (like mugler and azzaro getting fucked), variation of scents produced by the house, and other factors which I cannot think of but you probably can. I'm in my early 20s, my favourites for the last few years have been Eau Sauvage, Kouros and Fico di Amalfi. I'm leaning towards either Hermes, AdP or Channel.

Good find, eBay is really great if you want to find something that’s out of public interest unlike Sauvage, Aventus or atom Fore. I snapped a 100ml bottle of Carven L’eau Intense for £13 this way. I think there’s a good chance that you’ll win it for not much more than these 4€. However keep in mind that 95% of bidding happens in last 5 minutes.

First of all you’re autistic as fuck but I respect that. You’re pretty much limited to Guerlain/Dior/Chanel if you want to have enough stuff to choose from. Dior exclusive line unfortunately doesn’t satisfy some of your conditions. Many frags from their line got discontinued it reformulated. Which is a pity because I their exclusive line has some absolute bangers that are very varied and would enable you to experiment more (Chanel ones have a particular vibe around them that I think you might not like given your three favourites). I’d pick Guerlain or Chanel if you’re sure that all things that you listed are necessary for you.

>> No.15258847

>>15258839
Also re your other suggestions. AdP is a kind of one trick house. There is this ingredient series which is more interesting than their main line but not much to choose there from (and I think only Leather and Oud there is worth owining). Hermes is not very big on fragrances on the other hand. There’s pretty much 10-20 scents to choose from if you don’t count flankers. From these three I’d choose obviously Chanel (Anteaus can replace Kouros, I’m sure you’ll love Pour Monsieur too and you can dive into their exclusifs).

I think I figured out Norne.

Yes, there is a batch difference, but the way I would apply the sample is to really crush the juice into my skin. So when I did the same with my bottle, it smells very similar - a lot more focus on pine and incense. That said, it does still smell more sour, more like bitter orange and star anise.

You can't find Tsar any more. It pisses me off. Yes it's an old-schol scent but it's one of the best old-school scents. And IF they brought it back, there's no way of counting on them keeping the scent the same. They'd probably change it like Ralph Lauren did when he brought back Safari.

The closest substitute I could find is Chanel's Antaeus, which is still available.

I listed AdP due to absolutely loving Fico Di Amalfi and liking most of the other stuff from the blu line as well as the ones i've tried from the colonia ingredients line. Hermes due to Jean-Claude Ellena. Plus Terre d'Hermes is still amazing, the un jardin stuff is nice for summer, and they have some old school powerhouses like Bel Ami and Eau d'Hermes. I cannot trust Dior in the next 5-10 years as they have reformulated pretty much every single thing in their line through the years, and while a lot of them still retain their DNA (Eau Sauvage, Dune and Fahrenheit), I feel like they will become bleaker and bleaker in the next few years due to regulations. Also there is always the fear of a straight up discontinue like with Homme Parfum. I'm leaning towards Chanel to be fair as I have never been much into Guerlain.

Hey Anon not sure the full context as I didn't see your last post. Med student here, there's a couple of things to think about when you see peripheral oedema, and cause I don't know your ma's history etc it's tough to know exactly what her story is - did she have heart trouble before now? If it is heart failure there are options to improve her quality of life, furosemide (diuretic, 'water pill') will certainly help her feel better if she's retaining fluid on the lungs, and other meds will help improve her outcome, so it's not a lost cause by any means, patients with heart failure can certainly keep going on well! What's her exercise tolerance like?

From the social end of things your dad does need to have it impressed upon him that support is there for a reason - if he can't/won't work you need to be accessing the available help, it's free money and mad to be too proud or not bothered getting it.

What age are you anon? It's defo important to take care of yourself when worried too, and talk to your family about your fears. Don't feel like you're not allowed to have things or enjoy anything just because of financial woes. Minimum wage seasonal work will be tight to support your household as it is, so it may be worth seeing if there's any shortcuts to improving your income, courses at the tech or uni or apprenticeships that can get you better paying jobs in the long run.

Yeah just talk this through with your dad. There’s nothing to be ashamed of in getting some support. There are people out there who deliberately scam institutions into giving them money and you defo shouldn’t be ashamed of getting it in your case. Especially given that the situation is tight. Every dollar matters.

Thank you anon. She does get breathless when she does exercise bike stuff but that could be related to angina. She is on medication where oedema COULD be a side effect. She has had no heart issues nor does it run in her side of the family from what I can gather. She did smoke for the majority of her life though, gave it up 6 years ago.
I really do hope my dad can come to that awareness also. I'm 27 and I studied games programming, but had a psychotic break due to the death of my uncle and a lot of stress from a messy breakup. I tried to finish uni but my schizophrenia was a serious barrier, hence me not getting anywhere with any IT jobs. I sincerely cannot thank you anons enough for taking the time to support me in the midst of discussing a hobby.

Building upon this point. Idk what’s your background is but if you’re capable of doing some coding and maths then try coursers maybe I that’s feasible. You can apply for financial aid to them and get access to everything for free if you describe your situation. I got financial aid for thousands of dollars in total from them just because I said that I’m looking into changing my career path after graduation. They didn’t reject a single of mine applications and you’ve got way stronger case here. Everything will be fine, don’t take too much burden on your shoulders. Your dad definitely should understand that he at least should put some effort into getting support if he can. I can see that you’re mature and wprri d but it’s not all on you my man. I’m sure everything will be fine.

Yeah, I know. It’s been going on long enough that I’ve sort of come to accept the situation a bit, and yeah, 50% is not bad as far as cancers go. How hard would she be going on the bike would you say? It is regardless better to hear that she's not short of breath or symptomatic when at rest or at normal day to day activity. The confounding smoking history (glad to hear she packed it in!) & weight may add to that, but the angina end of things does suggest some heart disease, is she taking medication for that? I think Chest XR, ECHO, BNP would be worth getting done if your mum is worried, good thing that she is being seen by a local doc too. What's her energy levels like?

The dad chat defo is a bite the bullet sort of conversation, I'd encourage him to work if he's able, and if not/until then you guys defo need to get what you're entitled to. He may be feeling worried about your mum as well. How does he occupy his day to day? I'm sure he misses the camaraderie of work and all too

Ah a fair enough reason, uni can certainly be a lot of stress even without that added to it, hope you're in a better place with your mental health end of things now! Were you far from finishing, is that a thing you could possibly do remotely or have you kinda got a bad taste in your mouth for the full field? If not there are a few IT jobs you could do from home, and I certainly think the corona thing will lend firms into moving into this way or work, worth applying for in your downtime anyway while you keep the skills sharp!

I'd say she was going at a 3rd gear in a 6 gear, 18 speed mountain bike kinda speed. She's fine at rest and all. She's had an ECG taken and some other tests yesterday that are being looked into. Her energy seems fine, like able to go about daily life apart from when she's constantly on the move up and down stairs at work which is when her angina like symptoms flare up and she gets short of breath and a light chest pain.
I'll see what my dad can do, but I guess its not worth worrying about until my mother's diagnosis is confirmed. End of the day the edema could be weight or side effect related. And not to sound carefree ot laidback but I feel that panicking over things this very second when we're still not certain of what is the issue with her, would only cause more upset and stress.
My mental health is a lot better now, I got the all clear to drive, own my own car, got promoted at work to an assistant manager role which boosted my self esteem and drive. I just worry that with IT work and computing, yeah its something I really enjoy but I just get hit with brain fog and lack of interest in working on code or whatever after 25 minutes or so...
At any rate, things will work out the way they're meant to. My dad lost his father around my age quite sad to say and he carried on strong, just knuckled down and did what he had to to keep going, met mum and so on...

I'm sure if the ECG was a big worry you'd already know so that's good. It may be as simple as a wee adjustment to her medications or some more GTN on hand, but you're absolutely right, not worth panicking now at all, this isn't an acute emergency (although saying that, same as for anyone else, a big change like a crushing different pain radiating down chest to left arm get your arse into hospital)!

Not worth rowing with your dad either I guess, maybe gently suggest at him some dinner soon or mention to your ma?

Glad to hear you're doing well otherwise and enjoying the bonus responsibilities (only started driving last year myself and it's a life changer)! If you think you'd struggle doing a full day of the IT forever, is there any field you'd prefer to study and work in?

Idk mane. I also went through a phase when I tested many, many clones. The truth is that 90% of them don’t really smell like original. Often they’re quite spot on in the opening or when sniffing our hand but as the time passes or others smell them from some distance they just become an indistinguishable chemical ‘cologne cloud’. Secondly, even for those spot on (for example Oud Wood and some others have 99% close clones) it just feels cheap to wear a clone. I guess that might work for some and those types would also wear faked watches without batting an eye but I just can’t. Fragrances are for me personally mostly about how do they make me feel and what image I want to convey with them. Clones destroy this magic for me whatsoever. In particular if the price is an issue then just get a decant. Even for expensive stuff you can get 10-30ml decant of the original for the same price as the clone and it’s literally couple months worth of juice. There are also so many excellent and original cheapies that I don’t see a point of fixating on imitating some fragrance with a big price tag. These cheapies are often better than expensive fragrances.

I caught the rona in late March and had the same experience. It started when I went heavy with the Black Orchid to cut through my and other people's face coverings, before I even knew my smell was fading. I only got weak whiffs of what was usually a nuclear frag, but I didn't think anything of it. I got a 100.5 F fever the next day. The day after I put on some fahrenheit and barely got a whiff of anything. I thought "well iso-e super works weird on me, let me try Eros." I put the Eros on and barely got the sweetness of what would usually blow out my entire room in candy cane miasma. The next day I couldn't smell anything, not my frags, not coffee beans, or anything. It took like 50 days to get my smell back 100%. The good news is that I feel like it back better than it what it was before, but it was scary knowing that it could never come back, or that I wouldn't be able to smell smoke if my kitchen was burning down. >> No.15262011

>>15261979
Well, you can’t just spray a bunch of essential oils, you need a base, probably alcohol. Also, a lot of stuff used in perfumery requires hazardous material shipping due to flammability, so it may get expensive and/or tricky to get the correct permits depending on where you live, especially now with everything shut down. Also, many ingredients are only sold in large quantities, so you might need to buy like 5kg bags of stuff, or 1l bottles. Now, making an actual fragrance is pretty easy once you get the ingredients; you’re literally just mixing stuff in a container of some sort. The tricky part is making something that doesn’t smell like shit. You need to find the right ratios, and you have to be meticulous so you can replicate your results later when you run out.

So yeah, probably easier and cheaper in the long run to just buy something snice and cheap like Carven L’eau Intense and just reapply everything few hours/

Gorgeous stuff but sadly doesn’t last more than couple hours. Like most of Profumum Romas it’s also quite linear. I’ve been dacanting a lot both for myself when I travel and for others for swaps. Nothing gets lost that way. The scent is literally the same. I just use these small funnels and spray into them. The only disadvantage is that your finger will feel sore if you want to fill 10ml+ that way. Some people use syringes to suck juice from the bottles but I never wanted to do that because I’d need to have one for each bottle as it seems way harder to clean than funnels.

What makes you say that?

Smells like a vegetable garden. Definitely unisex and the opposite of raunchy but I wouldn't say soi at all. My gf has a bottle (that I bought her) and I borrow it sometimes.

I'd argue the official soi fragrance would be CDNIM or something similarly characterless and attention seeking. The man who wears one of the Un Jardins is likely quite comfortable in his skin and masculinity. It's a scent to be enjoyed by the wearer and their significant other, it's not something for the compliment tallying attention seeker.

One of the few frags that makes my eyes roll into the back of my head involuntarily. If anyone has any other recs for tomato leaf based frags please let me know as I'd like something similar for myself.

I recently got Luna Rossa for myself and Candy for my girl, and separate they're great, but when you hold a girl wearing Candy, the two scents seem to complement and merge with each other to the point of being companion scents.

You really have to smell the Prada me's stuff together with their women's stuff. Prada like Roja really has companion scents down to perfection.

Also speaking of soft perfumes, my SOTD is Karl Lagerfeld for Him. I'd say it's got a similar vibe to The Dreamer but its not as soft or sweet. >>15265474
Very based. There’s something distinguished about Guerlain Vetiver that I like. Tom Ford Grey Vetiver is kinda attention seeking ‘I smell good and clean you must smell me’ whereas Guerlain is quiet confindence to me. I smell good but have nothing to prove to anyone. If that makes sense.

whats something to wear when people always think i'm aloof, stoic and distant when i'm actually not. something to say, hey i'm here and i'm friendly. basically, people think i'm cold and disinterested when they first meet and i want something to say, actually i'm a goofy cunt.

Homme Cologne is a little bit more piercing than something like Mugler Cologne. It has more of a sharp lemon feel than a smooth, “bright” citrus, but it reminds me of ice cold lemonade. Considering how light it is I get surprisingly good longevity, a good six hours, plus longer as a skin scent. Definitely worth trying if you want something simple.

I'm looking to cop a bottle of the Sheikh Al Faransi Extrait and 1/2 or 1/4 tolas of Oud Assam and Nedjma

I really dislike Oud Cuire, I have a 1/4 tola of it. I think it may be the way it reacts with my skin though as I also dislike Ombre Leather on me, but like it on other people.

I fucking forgot to buy some samples and already dropped the hammer :( Haven't tried most of the ones you named. Want to give me a synopsis and let me live vicariously?

Need advice good smelling anons. Looking for a new perfume, one that I can wear daily and to every occasion. I prefer fresh scents, I.E not gourmands and such. I was looking at the Malle - Lys Méditerranée, is it a good buy?

I believe so. You just have to clean them out with alcohol of some sort. With that said, plastic is uber absorbent.
>>15263083
Agree. Haven't tried any of their men's marketed lines but the infusion stuff is snice. I don't care for any of their bottling except for that exclusive line or whatever they call it

This has been on my to-try for ages. I've heard it leans more feminine (it's floral). I would sample first.

For fresh and light (and cheaper) also look at the Acqua di Parma blu line, it's well memed around here.

See you next thread anons!

seriously, I've talked about that with 3 of my ex gfs, and they all loved it. I don't know what you mean exactly by crossdresser femdom, for me it's just wearing panties and stockings and getting pegged, and they loved it. We also had a MMF threesome with one ex gf, and I went bi all the way with the guy, sucked him off and let him fuck me. My gf loved it, she thought it was the hottest thing ever. So I'd encourage you to talk about that with your partners. Not so much for the kinky sex part, but for the self-healing and self-acceptance part.

I think DHC smells "thinner" than most other freshies, and I don't really get lots of neroli . As the other anon stated, it smells like an ice cold glass of lime water. Doesn't last awfully long on me, but it's really the kind of frag you take with you in a decant on a hot day or even the whole bottle - it's too refreshing not to
