7 months ago, I met the girl of my dreams, beautiful and smart. We have a lot of common interests. So I found she's not into fragrances, so for our first date i chosed Voyage d'Hermès that I had in a little decant. We meet in a cafe, we talked for some hours and i though we were having a good time. It was fun at least for me. So I asked her out once again, she agreed but she canceled one day before the date saying some awful excuse. I checked her ig stories in the next days and I saw her going out to bars / dinners with some female friends. I ask her out again and she refuses saying the she's need some resting. After that, she unfolowed me etc.

Now I absolutely hate the childish and smooth citrus-floral-musk smell of Voyage d'Hermes.

I'm listening to Wayne Shorter and thinking that talking to girls, specially the girls that you like it's a mistake.

Specifically for warm weather? Floris Santal, Cedrat Boise once fruit there calm ass down, Ormonde Man, Grey Vetiver, Azemour Les Orangers is beautiful oakmossy-green freshie (you can't go wrong with NYI if you want oakmossy woodiness but it's not very appropriate for high heat), 4160 Tuesdays The Sexiest Scent on the Planet & Freeway, Profumum Roma Acqua Viva is heavy on lemons but there's some underlying woodiness to it, same with Orangea, Frapin Passion Boisee is VERY woody in unusual way albeit its booziness and gourmandish orange make it more appropriate for spring not summer, Eau Sauvage Parfum 2017 & Masculin Pluriel but I wouldn't call them subtle, Atelier Vetiver Fatal is also interesting bit again not very subtle. I think Floris is the most subtle woody one here.

Layton is much more balsamic and spicy than Boss Bottled. It has has a more dynamic drydown and overall “darker” base notes. It is most definitely in the same genre of fruity top and vanilla+tonka bean base, but in terms of quality, it is the best one of its kind that I have smelled so far.

There's some really snice, fancy sample sets out there (L'Artisan Parfumeur, Histoires des Parfums, Nicolai Parfum, Frederic Malle) and I mean snice in terms of presentation. It's not just a bunch of vials in a cardboard slip (looking at you, MFK) but a very nicely packaged set. You could get her one of those and tell her you'll buy her whatever she likes from there. Hell, just the Frederic Malle sample set (they have one with female frags) is enough of a present, that's 20ml of a wide variety of top tier frags.
