This is just another hobby for dumbasses who need something to consoom and feel unique about. Buying your fucking badger hair brush and double edged garbage and artisanal soap just to spend twice as much time shaving.

I use a Merkur Razor and Japanese feather blades partly cause i bought 400 razor blades for $20 but mostly because of the aesthetic. I used to make my own shaving cream with a badger brush but it takes too long if you want to do it right so I got some fancy ph balanced shaving cream from my salon my gf works at.

>> No.15175356

I've taken the beard pill so I don't shave anymore, but when I did I loved the Philips Norelco 3 head dry electrics. So fast, easy, and clean. They don't get as close as a razor but since they are dry and only take 20 seconds you can just shave in the morning and the afternoon and nobody can tell.

those things pull your hair if you don't save every day and even you can't be certain only carts and de blade have actually been able you cut through my stubble without pulling.
>>15175336
never tried a merkur but i've heard they're really good. i was going to go with a 34c but i ended up getting the muhle r89 which does a really good job
>>15175356
electrics are great for convenience but you can't get as close of a shave as a blade due to the guard. if you get a rotary you should get a phillips that is made in holland not china. still though they're very convenient

>> No.15175370

>>15175035
you really don't have to. i got all my shit for about 100 aud and it's already saved me money on blades due to how long i've had it. gillette and Schick are a duopoly and they can pretty much charge what they want because people will still buy it

>> No.15175372

jokes on you i am using a straight razor because i am straight and you are a consooming faggot OP

>> No.15175374

>>15175108
watch the angle you use and use little to no pressure. i just put the razor (not the blade but the handle) parallel to the floor or face and lower it until either the blade rests on my face or reaches the correct angle. it's much easier once you get used to it but there's a little bit of a learning curve. once i worked out the proper angle my shaves were much better. i'd say you're still getting used to it so give it some time

>> No.15175377

i'd say safety razors are pretty practical for cost and what not but straight razors are a little bit hipster tier

don't worry about them, assuming you actually don't go full onions and spend 500 bucks on the stuff it's fine. most of them have been jewed by the shaving duopoly

>> No.15175418

>>15175372
I would love to learn how to use a straight razor, but I just don't want to spend 20-60 minutes on a shave. Also the sharpening seems pretty expensive to me given the extremely fine grit sharpening stones/pastes you need to get it razor sharp. I sharpen my own knives, but they don't need to be razor sharp so I don't have a expensive setup.

Autist, literally bought a merkur 34c with 100 astro blades for about 55 bucks on amazon nearly two years ago. Still have about 40 razors left.

You’re so fucking stupid. The whole reason using a safety razor is a better, closer shave is because using one, sharp blade cleanly cuts each hair instead of ripping them out like a cartridge or electric. The brush helps by actually coating the hairs with soap for a smoother shave. There’s a reason why a safety razor has been the go to for decades. They’ve only been replaced because of laziness and companies would rather charge people consistently through buying cartridges or subscriptions. Pipe down kid.

retarded boomer shit. although I gotta say that using a brush and shaving creme or soap is still pretty nice. fuck safety razors though because I wanna actually scrape something off my face and not go over the same spot 5 fucking times. That's what multiblade cartridge is for and does better.

You're using the wrong blades then, when I use cheap shit like derby or astra I get the same thing. But when I use a feather blade in a Muhle R41 I get clean shaves with a single pass. Just buy an Ikon Tech, pick related, and a pack of feathers if you think safety razors are too dull.
