Someone I know irl, a person I went to high school with, now 30, gives off the aura Aaron has - overly exuberant, unnaturally energetic, with a sense of "humor" and optimism that comes off as not only forced, but depressingly artificial, as if he is trying so hard to instill in others a sense of hope that has long-since died within him. The last time I saw this person, he ripped his pants down the leg dancing on a table at a wedding. I'm not sure how the rest of the night was, or how he managed, since I left shortly after.

His entire persona revolves around a depreciating sense of humor that, coupled with a life of being the butt of his friends jokes, has left him with a sense of confidence that is thinner than a cell membrane. It's sort of sad to me that he still is so blue pilled, his only way of attracting any attention is to make himself look like a fool. He is caught right now between trying to find a job as a CPA, attempting to become an instagram fitness celeb, and trying to make ends meet through MLM.

The last time we spoke, he was reaching out to all of his contacts, asking if they would like to speak with him and the bank manager he works under for a free consultation on investing. I never returned his message.

Every time I see Alpha M or that Indian ripoff of him I get depressed - not only for being able to see how unhappy they must be, but also because of the hordes of dorks that take in their advice, thinking they will become a "bad boy" by adopting tropes and thinking that it could make up for their lack of personality and total lack of excitement.

They have such a warped sense of it too. It instead comes off as they're aiming to be the best accessory an average woman can have. Everything is very safe and the distressing in their clothes is all right off the rack. There's a larger issue of authenticity at play here and its hard to be authentic wearing clothes you just took the tags off. Their personas have no sense of being lived in but this is more obvious to men than women as women gauge aesthetics through a different lens. I admire these guys' desire to make changes in their lives but I don't think adopting safe and overly clean styles is the optimal solution. A likely possibility is that they're all boring people who surround themselves with off white walls and minimal furnishing.

You may not, but many people fall for the overly-confident, exuberant personality.
