If you really like something, you wear it. If you have to ask for permission, you shouldn't bother wearing it to begin with

this is how high schoolers dress right now...it's pretty overdone and I would say still alive...but basic in an overdone way.
but really tho go for it man it's your life.

yeah man! I'm 22 and from a small town. When mac was popping off, i'm ngl I was a little on the thriftcore wave. No one dressed like that around then, but now when I visit my hometown now that's all I see. My friend's highschool age siblings are super normie & dress like this. It's 'in' for some ppl. Dadcore/maccore or whatever is very mainstream imo...you wouldn't stand out. Some kids in the DIY scene still be dressing this way.

What about this is appealing?
Hasn’t mostly everyone wisened up to the fact that Mac was never really that good??

It’s just music for people who wanna like indie music but don’t really know what they think sounds good just like all the old Beach House fans.

I’ll pretend like Mac Demarco’s fans and wannabes don’t look like shit.

You seem to have been mislead.
Mac Demarco-core is not contrarian.
It’s more prevalent now than it has ever been.

Demarco-core and Sex-core are two separate paths that lead to the same evil.
Genericness and unoriginality.

They're literally both the most played out, generic looks. Leave that shit in the 2010s.

Still going on strong in auth alt-scenes. Working class and bougies alike. It's not that departed from casual/sportswear, but has been including more formal and dress pieces, with smaller logos and toned down colors. Anyway, if you dig from the thrift a crazy flashy 90s rare jacket you might keep it for the right ocassion/collecting/trading
