I just made a tire print shirt using my car, which was fun. No idea what I'll wear with it, I'm not really a car-focused dude. Just had a fun idea.

I also somewhat modified these jeans and shirt. Originally was just going to have the shirt say 'A Band On Hope' (harhar), but dropped some of the red paint on the wolf eyes, and it kind snowballed from there. Now it's overly edgy, so I only wear with a zip hoodie overtop.

The jeans were ripping all over the place, so hand sewed some patches to say Thigh and Knee on them.

I hope I can learn to machine sew at some point, it's fun to mod clothes, even if the results are kinda bad.

Learn how to sew a straight line, and your local fabrics store will have scraps for very cheap, use these. Also, lots of folks like to start with a T shirt as their first project to make from scratch, but that involves using stretch materials for the collar. I'd actually recommend a simple vest. Lastly, think about order of operations in your sewing. A lot of times, you'll be seeing things inside out, so figure out what you need to do first and what you can do last to ensure a clean finish.

I make my own, but you can buy them or if you're cheap, you can transcribe them. Transcribing works as follows: find your pattern online, oftentimes it will have a preview image with all of the components. Save that image and open it in paint. Create a relative scale by using an approximation, such as, I know the zipper will be 22 inches, so how many pixels is that in paint. Draw straight lines in paint and note the pixel distances, as shown in the bottom of the window. Measure everything you need to and then draw it out.

As for making your own, you can measure based on an item you already have, and then modify it as needed. Don't forget your seam allowances.

I'm an artist, and while it's fun to get out of your comfort zone and try new skills and styles, it's also good to acknowledge your own inexperience in some avenues if you want something done right. But that shouldn't stop you from capitalizing on an idea. Artists should pay each other for their assistance or help on projects (unless they straight up want to collaborate), to help the artists economy along. I draw lots of my own comics, but If I don't have the skills to draw something in my mind to my own satisfaction, I have no issue paying someone to draw the comic for me so I can publish it. It's still my story.

I'm not edgy. Thanks for the compliment, I still might remake the shirt to be less bloody, with a different graphic. I still like "a band on hope".

The patches thing seemed a bit cooler in my mind than in practice. I like anatomy charts, so I thought I could channel that somehow. The whole look is probably a little disingenuous though, it's more punk than I actually am.

Anyone has some oversized or regular t-shirt sewing pattern? I know it’s easy to make a tee, but still would be glad for help

>Libgen has a book called menswear patterning by Garrett Kershaw. Give it a read.

Whats the process for going from these designs to an actual working piece of clothing? Im bored during the quarantine and have fabric and a sewing machine.

Make your paper pattern, then arrange it onto the fabric. Then, draw using a fabric marker and then cut out the panels. Then, sew them together. As for sewing steps, I usually start with the body panels first, sewing them into a vest shape. Then you do the sleeves. Sew the sleeves into the body. Always sew right sides in, wrong sides out, and use lots of pins. Of you aren't going to line your jacket, zig zag stitch the edges so they won't fray. I do the waistbands last to seal the garment, as they always have topstitching.

Here's a different design made with dtg. Would be cool to get into screen printing at some point, but the only real reason for me to use it is to use special ink, like for printing on leather or something.
