FYI when I say trench-like I include the coat in the pic which isn't a trench.
Those are based on coats motorcycle messengers wore hence the big pocket in the front which is an attraction to me. Room for a passport and a sandwich.
The green colour also means it's between "untouchables" beige and "school shooter" black or navy.

Go for it, long coats are great. I would recommend going with a mac or duster, or one of those dispatch coats if you tend to dress more casually. If you wear suits often then a traditional doublebreasted trenchcoat is the way to go.

A classic trench is a bit much. Looks very LARP-y and dorky, especially if you don't invest in a really high end one. Long coats are the jam though. I like fishtail parkas (EG Highland Parka is great, copped that in a handwoven grey "static" looking cotton and it's dope and extremely versatile,) or like more overcoat/car coat cut styles are much easier to pull off if you're looking for something dressier. Got this really cool M65-style fishtail parka without a hood x light classic lapeled overcoat cut x moto jacket crossbreed thing from Nonnative and I absolutely love the thing. Water repellent and can be dressed up or down and looks very sleek and tech-y without being so far into that aesthetic that you can only wear it with techwear.
