Let me just rant about frags. Whatever.

I have an eau extreme sample. Don't think it's all that. Rather stick to my sauvage for most occasions now. My other 6 frags are blue edp, bright neroli, Polo black, Jaguar performance, sung Homme, and CDNIN.

Neroli makes me smile. Neroli is God and it has a beautiful white floral note.

Poll black is what my gf loves. She associates with me. Smells sophisticated. And sensual.

Performance for work. Irish green soap. Smells clean.

I've only gotten into fragrances in the past year or so. So far, I've had Armaf Tes Nuit, and I'm currently using Jimmy Choo Man Intense. I got the Floraiku sample set as well. I still haven't tried all of them, maybe half, but I still haven't been impressed by anything from them. I do want to sample Memo Winter Palace, which is from the same house, just a different brand. And Slowdive is also on my list, let me know how it goes.

There's some companies that sell sample kits rather cheap, where you can get a bunch of 2ml's from them, some are pretty good deals. Niche houses with cheap sample sets, off the top of my head:
Maison Francis Kurkdjian
Etat Libre d'Orange
Naomi Goodsir (very cheap sample set, highly recommended)
Histoires des Parfums (great house, and you can sample 10 of their frags for $20).

Montale

If you can find some Frederic Malle near you, I suggest you go try them out. Their sample set is $70, expensive but so worth it. But they also sell 3 samples for $15, I believe.

Those samples you have are great, but if you're feeling more adventurous, try some niche brands.

Perfumed Court still seems to be shipping, but a lot of other sites, if you actually read their shipping info now, they’re accepting orders basically to reserve products but aren’t currently shipping. Sadly those are 3 of the best IMO, but there's still plenty worth trying. I might only do 1 or 2ml first for each since taste will be subjective. Outside those 3 my favorites are T. Rex, Civet, and Dodo. Elephant, Rhino, Camel, and Chameleon are also definitely worth a sample. All the scents are super interesting (except Panda, don't do it)

Hey fellas. Reviewanon/ScentScavenger here. Just wanted to give some closure to anyone who remembers me here I apologize I didn’t say something sooner. I’m always going to be into frags but I kind of had a Eugene addiction going on. I realized this wasn’t a healthy pursuit for the moment. I sold almost everything and kind of just left the channel alone. When I say I sold everything I mean all that’s left in my shelf are a few misc decants not worth the trouble to sell (15ml aventoos remains Kek) and baraonda. I could never ever sell baraonda, my true love in fragrances. Just thought some of you would appreciate knowing my last frag standing. All zoos and slumberhouses sold. I just had 2 grand of frags sitting on my shelf and realized I could use that money in other places in my life. I still lurk and I still love you all. I had a lot of fun putting on a show for you guys maybe I will return one day with a healthier approach to this.

Don’t let this hobby consume you. Don’t lose your mind and wallet over it. The slope is slippery newfags. Very slippery. I’m proof of that. Buy decants instead of bottles unless you coom at the smell of the fragrance. It’s an easy hobby for shut ins which is why so many you tubers are neckbeards. Remember to get outside and interact with people. The fragrance is for you. I say again THE FRAGRANCE IS FOR YOU AND ONLY YOU. I spent thousands and got only a handful of compliments from people who were going to compliment me anyway. This hobby will not solve the problems in your life. “One more bottle” is never the case, there will always be one more bottle. So draw a hard line. Don’t lose control . I love you guys, I’ll be around to lend what residual knowledge I have when I can

I got in to fragrances 18 months ago. Now I have 30 full bottles. I “stopped” about six months ago, but have bought four since then, but fortunately I’m in a position where I don’t need the money as desperately as others might. I don’t play video games anymore. I don’t smoke, I rarely drink, as long as I can read books, watch films, listen to music I’m happy. I pay my bills comfortably, buying fragrances is/was a little passion for a while, but one I continue to enjoy in a less materialistic way. I’m getting more used to what I own. I’m learning about the notes of them in a deeper level. But I knew I had to stop buying them because as you said, there’s always another bottle. There are two I’m interested in now, but when I have an eternity of fragrances already on my shelf it’s harder to justify. I might buy them, but I have to know I will get something new from it. One thing that often gets overlooked isn’t the smell but the situation/application. For example, if you want a nice, clean work fragrance you could buy Grey Vetiver. You could also buy Prada L’Homme. They smell nothing alike but ultimately serve a similar purpose and while I own both, I don’t “need” both because I tend to wear them in similar instances.

I’m glad you got a grip on your addiction and I wish you all the best.

I’m doing alright I hope you are too anon. I just needed some space for a while. There is a fine line between “collector” and “addict” and I think that needs to be made aware to the fragcomm. It creeps up on you. Covid has me bored and I’m just reassessing the need of some of my possessions. It’s going to sound silly maybe but I went to church for the first time in a while some weeks ago and the whole message was on have money for what’s important in your life and realize if you have idols in your life that are keeping you from faith and being healthy. My closet was basically a shrine to my frags and I realized they were in fact idols to me. I just felt this strong guilt and conviction and it really felt like God was speaking to me giving me a reality check of “you are not healthy right now, get rid of this”. I said “Everything but Baraonda, Lord“.... for those of you using frags as a crutch for holes and voids in your life turn to some faith. Stage 1: I dont know much about fragrances this chart looks helpful I'll order samples of what I can find. Wow these are nice, I'll order full bottles. Orders: terre d'hermes,bvlgri black,encre noire,london,balderassini ambre.
Stage 2: Oh look a new chart, well I liked the recommendations on the old one so I'll just blind buy all the cheap ones. Orders: Azzaro,Eau de Rochas,oud malaki,mugler cologne,moustache,eau des baux, guerlain homme / vetiver.
Stage 3: People are always going on about these frags and they're on the chart so they must be good might as well blind buy them. Orders: Ambre Sultan, Chergui,French lover,Oud Wood,Tuscan Leather.
