Calf, suede or cordovan for loafers? I don't want to get one and later regret not getting a different one

>> No.15081758

It’s finally happening.

My old buddies have begun to look at old pictures from our youth. The fools. Look at them giggling at silly things they wore in the past. Pretending to enjoy themselves. They must be devastated to know that they once participated in trends. They don’t even realize that I spent years, painstakingly predicting future trends, analyzing millennia of past fashion, and every infographic on the internet for the sole purpose of building the ultimate wardrobe. Something beyond trends. Beyond even time itself.

Clark’s desert boots in beeswax, khaki chinos(slim fit), a white button down(also slim fit), and a light blue button down if I’m in a fun mood. This is it. This is what I’ve worn day after day for over thirty years. My entire youth dedicated to this one outfit. This is victory over fashion. This is timeless.

The fools continue to enjoy themselves like idiots. If only they’d have done what I have done they wouldn’t look so stupid right now.

A picture of me finally appears. Just as planned, I’m wearing Clark’s desert boots in beeswax, khaki chinos(slim fit), and a white button down(also slim fit). The exact same thing I’m wearing right now. There’s nothing to say about my outfit. A tingling sensation takes over my entire body as decades of work finally come to a payoff.

They go to the next picture. I’m wearing Clark’s desert boots in beeswax, khaki chinos(slim fit), and a white button down(also slim fit). Again there’s nothing to say. The hairs on the black my neck stand up.

Next picture. Clark’s desert boots in beeswax, khaki chinos(slim fit), and a white button down(also slim fit)! My old friends begin to look at each other. They must realize what I’ve done by now! They are speechless! My heart rate quickens.

Next picture. Clark’s desert boots in beeswax, khaki chinos(slim fit), white button down(also slim fit). The blue button down will never appear because I am never in a fun mood! There is nothing fun about fashion. There is still nothing to say about my outfit. The silence in the room is now deafening. Waves of pleasure begin pulsing around my whole body.

On and on they scroll through old pictures of me trying to find something. Anything different. Even the slightest trend. They will find nothing. Just Clark’s desert boots in beeswax, khaki chinos(slim fit), and a white button down(also slim fit).

My closest friend breaks the silence.

“Why did you dress so boring?” He says.

The waves of pleasure and tingling come to a climax. It’s too intense. I begin to shake. I can only moan out through the sudden muscle spasms.

“Clothes... Make.. THE MAN!”

Silence falls over the room once again. Only my heavy breathing can be heard as my once close friends only stare wide eyed in awe at what they have witnessed. Perfection. Timeless style. Clark’s desert boots in beeswax. Khaki chinos(slim fit), And a white button down(also slim fit). Try as they may to find flaws in this outfit even now they will only make fools of themselves. Without question I have won. I stand up to leave. I smirk then look over my shoulder and say one last time to my friends.

I really like knitted polos from Morgano and Berg & Berg. Also Sunspel riviera polos have been a staple for years for years, they are very comfortable and the cut is quite flattering. I haven't tried them yet, but the Drake's knitted linen/silk polos from this S/S collection seem excellent. I really like the vintage styling like slightly longer but still fitted arms.
Also, if you like vintage styling and bold stripes and colours, Scott Fraser makes amazing polos. For more subdued style, also check out Simon James Cathcart. The Deco polos look great, fine cut.

Yes, you retard. darting is simple as fuck to undo, you just need a seam ripper, as far as pants, there's plenty of places that offer pants that are roomy in the seat and thighs, and surprise surprise, you can just pay someone to make them. You should worry about learning about clothing alteration before you worry about how to dress nicely so long as it's done as cheaply as possible. Go read a book or something; hell, there's hundreds of YouTube channels if you're a sped that can't sit still.

>>15083838
Ostentatious does not necessarily mean expensive, Anon. It resides somewhere between flashy and pretentious. That shirt's bright colors and large logo fit the bill, but just aren't my taste. I suppose someone can quite literally ostentate at a designer's branding, but that's not quite what I'm going for. I am almost certainly overstating what I'm going for too. I don't actually want to stand out to the degree that what I'm wearing is gaudy, it's more in line with slightly busier or more presumptuous than the typical /tip/ minimalism. I'm stuck for casual shoes, /tip/. I wear a lot of vaguely trad/prep stuff but I usually have a slight twist on it of sorts. Different colours, plums and creams, slim fit stuff, nice subdued patterns etc. My problem is I've never found a shoe that looks good, is made good, and would fit my style of dress. Any sort of low white tennis sneaker. I would say that Common Projects are not tippy though. If you go into a more modern prep (frat core) you could add new balance sneakers. The made in the USA models but this could also just be a southern thing. Most preppy southerners at university wear

yeah it does lol. Spending 300 on a white shoe isn't tippy at all. Anyway gay italian fashion falls under sprezzatura and not /tip/

>> No.15086584

>>15086538
There's a lot of crossover between Neapolitan style and English style in terms of both influence and manufacturing. Considering that /tip/ draws on both sides of the pond, aspects of Italian style are absolutely /tip/, shoes especially. If you're going to try to tell me that Ferragamo is not trad, I simply will not listen. Same for any of the big tailoring houses. Sprezzatura is definitely not trad, but all Italian style is not sprezzatura. This is all besides the point.
CPs are preppy for two reasons:
1. They're an attractive, unadorned, all-white tennis shoe and
2. Expensive things are fine so long as their price is justified. This can be through the longevity or quality of the item and even partly its exclusivity.
I say all this just to say that regardless of their /tip/ status, I wouldn't buy them. Regardless of quality they are just far too expensive for a casual tennis shoe. Considering how far that money can get you with other footwear, I just can't fathom ever paying that much for something that unassuming. In conclusion, I might actually agree with you. The price might not be justified. Then again, I suppose that's a relative concept. After all, on man's expensive tennis shoe is a foreign exchange student's in-class purchase.

I would never wear a sweater without anything underneath, the less skin contact the less dirty the sweater gets and the less dirty it gets the less I need to wash it. Less washing means sweaters last longer. My issue with wool sweaters is:
1) anything less than an oxford shirt and I can feel the itchy wool fibers poke through
2) even a collared shirt doesn't keep a turtleneck from touching my neck where my skin is most sensitive
It's not fair bros, I absolutely love wool why did I have to be born with sensitive skin. Wool trousers are fine as long as they're worsted or lined, wool jackets and coats are fine because they don't touch the skin, but for hats and scarves I need cashmere because even merino wool is too itchy. My only gripe with buying cashmere sweaters is they're always thin and dainty.

I know, right? Everything they make is my LARP fantasy. Apparently even (some) regular jackoffs dress like that for the opera though, so you could definitely get away with that larping if you can justify the cost/live near an opera house.

Seconding changing out the polo for a dress shirt, maybe one in a lighter color so it's not darker than the sports coat

The chinos should have more of a taper to them because they draw too much attention to your small feed (also why you should change the socks out for a more plain pattern).

Loafers could use some restoration and polish

Overall not bad. It looks alright. You're better dressed than most people I work with.

>> No.15098760

>>15092102
Waist up is great, jacket is 10/10, navy polo works well imo

Chinos are odd - you'd be better buying them longer and then cuffing them, the colour is a bit off as well - could do with being either much more cream coloured or much more straightforwardly tan. Maybe it's the lighting but they have a yellowy, greenish hue to them which isn't great. Cut overall isn't great either. Socks aren't to my taste, a dark ribbed charcoal merino would work better imo. Shoes just look... cheap. Pretty bland. Not horrific, but not nice either. Maybe it's the kind of mid-brown colour, I think a really dark, rich brown would work a lot better to balance out the chinos

Overall 7/10, top half great, lower half needs improvement. Love the jacket though, v good cop

Constructive criticism thanks. Re: small feet, it's probably just the distortion caused by the camera lens. I'm size 9 (UK).
