I'm not super attractive or socially adept, but I am rich as fuck now from a 4million inheritance. I'm not interested in expensive cars to flash off my wealth so I have chosen to invest in clothes.

presently I have ordered about $16,000 from brunello cucinelli(mostly jackets & knitwear). if you had a zillion dollars what brands would you buy?

You save up most of it, the tax man wants his cut. Be smart and talk to a bunch of financial advisors untol you find the right one. That being said, go grt a nice watch and good shoes. What kind of people do you want to know you're rich? Do you want other rich people to see it or just impress normies?

id buy a hermes blanket. At some point, you want to decide if you want the nouveau riche look with prominent logos, or do you go for quality and style, something to make you look great, but blend in with the poors.

first, get buff. unless you are jewish or old you do not truly look wealthy unless you are fit.
then take a trip to savile row and have a couple of suits made.
buying shit off the rack means you are still a peasant.

Imho margiela is best for showing knowledgable/wealthy people that you're wealthy

If you're not familiar with MM6 it'll look like any other Zara-tier brand
But the pieces are pretty hard to find properly and it'll cost you just to get a few, and not even mentioning the haute-couture level MM

This is the real question, none of the "rich" people I know have heard of any of the brands that are jizzed over on this board and they won't spend more than $200 on any single garment

glad for you, OP, especially, that you have sense not to go for dumb toys.
I am assuming you are in your late 20s or 30s unmarried and no kids?
My advice would be to invest in yourself - nothing conveys success and likeability more than being healthy and well groomed.
Get a personal trainer and be fit, according to your natural body type - either slim elegant ottermode, or respectable masculine with a focus on endurance and not the weight (either yours of of the bar). Go the the barber every two-three weeks. Either have the confidence to take the buzz or that perfect hairline - at least one of them can be purchased.
Also, the most precious resource is time - it is doing things is the most fa thing ever. Assuming you are happy with your job, make sure you do not work more than 4 days a week. Live within 15 minutes from work and/or walking distance from beautiful public space, than you feel good in. Become a co-owner of a bar/restaurant (or another business that has a socail element to it, where you can just chill and maybe help out a little). Many businesses will be struggling this year and you could take a minor stake in a place by bailing them out (shouln't be more than 5% of your net worth).
Take ownership of your neighbourhood, city.
Develop yourself - find a hobby that can help you be more socailly adept - acting or music classes or team sport or volunteering somewhere you find cool.
And absolutely have your clothes tailored from scratch and also altered - taking in 2 seams on a jacket can mean the world as to how it looks. Maybe get an actual professional stylist to develop a dressing strategy, just make you sure you stay yourself and are comfortable.
