Anyone have any tips for dressing post punk? These guys just wear dress shirts and dress pants but somehow look casual. Every time I try it I just look like a bro in dress clothes. What exact pants and shirts are these dudes wearing? It's hard to explain they dont look preppy they look cool but when I try I just look prep. I'm a brainlet.

Thrift store. Darker colors. Look for material that feel more natural and even knitted instead of the thin smooth feeling material of most modern dress clothes. Look for natural cotton color instead of white. Etc. Jackets are probably tweed wool, not dress wool.

it's about distressed/thrifted clothing. even back then they were copping their clothes from second hand shops so they look worn in and loose. brand new shirts/pants are wayyy too fitted. try copping loose fit canvas pants not quite dress pants but something like dickies, plus a dark worn in button down

is right it's more about fit. make sure they hit your shoulders right. I'd try cropped trousers like pic rel as well
