Harp on about MOD contracts but it really only seems to be commemorative lines for regiments and squads who independently organize a special run as getting an issued watch in today's armed forces is pretty much unheard; the guys all bring their own g-shocks, suuntos or rolex subs of they're a cunTOFFicer. Cwc recent special commemorative run for the Australian Navy Clearance Divers (Aussie SBS). They claim to have a current MOD SBS contract for diving watches right now, don't know if legit.

Precista microbrand has their own g10 that has double dome sapphire, normal spring bars so you can actually change the strap to something other than a nato (cwc g10 has fixed bars), infinitely better WR (100m + screw caseback vs cwc 30m and exposed battery hatch). Lume is said to be better but I don't know, cwc with C3, basically anything they have that isn't that faux aged shit, seems decent. 20mm lug width vs cwc's 18mm means more strap choice.
Drawbacks of precista g10: shitter quartz movement. Ronda 715 vs the much more lauded cwc's eta 955 which is known to be very accurate and problem free compared with the Ronda. Ronda has a lithium "10 year battery" though so that's a plus, but does that outweigh the fact that the ETA 955 is pretty much universally lauded by owners and repairmen as being long-lasting and hassle free vs the ronda's rep for being less accurate and more prone to faults requiring total replacement?

From an actual military tool watch pov, the cwc's acrylic crystal would be better as sapphire can shatter. Acrylic scratches boo hoo so what, anyone can polish it with some fucking toothpaste if they need to, though none of this matters to fat larpers on watch forums.

I just got this SKX007 from Yahoo.jp auctions, I thought it was fake at first as the day/date font is different to my 009. Turns out it's just an early one with the 7S26A movement.
It's from Oct 2001, the dial seems to have faded as it's more grey than black now.

I'm a Vostok fan boy and of course they are not expensive, but I'd rather see some Vostok collection than a Rolex one. In fact people that collect cheaper watches often do it because they are more into the hobby while those with a Rolex or 20k+ watch are not into the hobby, it's just the go to watch and brand to show off your wealth.

There are more "poor" collectors out there who enjoy watches for what they are than a guy with a box full of 20k watches who is only in it for the status symbol.
