I wear alot of dyed Tshirts, basically take all my beater shirts and dye them grey or black. Still gets the washed wave pattern that's equally as washed up as I am. I'll wear them with chinos or some Levi's and some white beat tennis shoes. Easy way to recycle a wardrobe

That's exactly what I'm not trying to do??

I have tripped a couple times, but by psychedelic I'm more talking about the culture surrounding that word and the aesthetic than trying to dress like someone who takes drugs.
Essentially, I'm asking for ways to include more colour and patterning into my otherwise more normal style in a subtle/ tasteful way

I somewhat agree with both of you,
but yes you should be able to figure it out for yourself, I don't think anyone on here can tell you without it being contrived by its very nature.

All I can add is that it's not just colours, but also materials, texture and ofc patterns.

I'm sure you'll figure it out, just look for clothes in places that feel authentic and have the vibe you're looking for.
