Basically what I do is start shilling a bullshit brand watch that I like the look of, but would never get caught dead with it because it's a cheap shitter with no brand recognition, then when someone buys it, I switch it up to another. Sometimes I throw in a bullshit brand that also happens to look like shit just to see if it'll work too, it never fails.

Can you guess which brands I shilled so far?

Thinking about purchasing myself a Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon. The heritage heavily draws me in, as does the design of the watch (including it's robustness). A little over $3,000.

The GC runs fine, surprisingly. I don't remember the timegrapher results but I seem to recall single digit seconds per day, decent amplitude and Delta.

The 0100 is very, very good. I've pretty much just been wearing it non stop. The only thing that would improve it in my eyes is a non-assuming "QUARTZ" printed in the bottom half of the dial. The hands aren't perfect; I like the beveled hands on the A060 better. The second hand alignment on the 0100 is not *perfect*, but it is very close. It's perfect to naked eye; a 5x loupe shows some misalignment on some indices.

The MOP is impossible to photograph.

Interesting. How does that compare to your Chronomaster? When Is saw the Hodinkee video about the 0100 I noticed that the second hand appears to have slightly more judder to it when it moves than you see on a 9F, I wonder if that's related to it not absolutely nailing the indices?

The MOP looks a lot nicer in real world photos than it did in the press material. On the subject of MOP, I picked up one of those new steel cased casio digitals and I'm really enjoying it. The external finishing on the case is unironically Oceanus tier. Must be the same factory doing those cases as Casio outsources the rest of their Oceanus and MRG cases to.

Let's say I've got a Vostok Amfibia that's got a specific problem: the day window ticks forward like three minutes before midnight. This annoys me; I'd like it to tick forward at midnight on the dot. (russkies prolly assembled it while it was running. sheeit.)

Can this be unfucked by running the power reserve down, taking the movement out of the case, removing the hands from the dial, finding the spot where the date ticks over, and then installing the hands at 12:00:00? Or, are the hands keyed to the internals in such a way that they won't go in except in a configuration that ticks the day at 11:57pm?

>I've also heard people in /wt/ shit on the Powermatic 80
The base grade Powermatic 80 used in Tissots has a plastic pallet fork and escape wheel, and is a disposable movement engineered to be replaced at service.

The COSC version does not use plastic parts in the excapement, and does have a silicon balance spring, but still has some potential issues in the future.

Basically, the balance wheel is poised (balanced on its axis) and adjusted for rate at the factory by laser cutting the balance wheel. The balance wheel is then left with only two eccentric weights that can be used to alter its rate and poise in the future (you can see the two screws in the attached picture).

The open question is whether those two adjustment screws give enough of a range of adjustment for poise and rate that a Powermatic 80 COSC movement will be able to remain serviceable long term. That remains and open question, and I'm also unsure as to whether the Swatch Group is actually servicing the COSC versions instead of just replacing them at service like they do the low end versions.

If you don't have any intersest in mechanical movements and don't care that you will need to take it to a Swatch Group service centre wehre they are probably putting in a fresh movement into your watch every 5 years, the Powermatic 80 COSC is fine.

Thanks for the explanation. I'm not concerned about the horological value of the Tissot Gentleman per se so much as I am about a movement that keeps decent time and is decently reliable. As far as Swatch Group products go, my Hamilton Khaki Mechanical keeps good time (running for a week on and off the wrist it was a bit under 30 seconds fast) and also has an 80hr reserve, presumably using similar technology but without a winding rotor, so I'm assuming durability/longevity is the question here, particularly since the Tissot in question uses the non-COSC movement AFAIK. I may go with the SARB just for the smaller dimensions.

>> No.15006114

The H-50 in your Hamilton is a manual wind version of the Powermatic 80 but with a metal escapement (only the entry level Tissot models with the Powermatic 80 have the plastic escapement). I hadn't realized that Hamilton now has a manual wind version of the Powermatic 80 for their handwind models, up until recently they were still using the ETA 2801 in those.

As far as I know, only the entry level Tissot version of the Powermatic 80 uses the synthetic escapement. The silicon balance spring version (which is the same one they COSC certify) does not, and neither do the Hamilton/Mido/Certina/Longines/Rado versions.

How short is the lug to lug on those?

>But it's hard to justify when there's a 1984 vfa listed for sale
Nice. As far as I recall those don't tend to cost that much since there's such limited demand for vintage ladies mechanical watches. That movement should be talked about more, it was one hell of an achievement. A 36,000 bph, +/- 3 SPD movement at that size is crazy.

>By the way did you see the cal 4580 that sold on eBay like a month ago for $3k?
Totally missed it, but I just went and looked it up. It wasn't exactly in great condition, but that's still an incredible deal for such a rare and coveted movement. Mind you, it certainly doesn't have the aesthetic appeal of the more commonly known 45 VFA design either.

The average penis size is around 5.3 inches. Just like everything online and irl, everything has been inflated and exaggerated so people think 6 inches is average. It's not. Most women think a 6 inch penis 7 inches and a 7 inch penis is 9 inches.

Further to that, white people have the largest average penis size. In all SELF-REPORTED penis sizes stats, blacks come out slightly larger. In all MEDICALLY MEASURED AND NOT SELF-REPORTED blacks come out slightly smaller.

So the whole "BBC" thing is based on blacks telling lies and whites being honest about their size.
