I want to grow my hair out, how do I keep motivated in between now and this length?

Brush it back, outgrow will not seem as annoying and it will be easier to deal with, also wash your not more than once a week with shampoo, do scalp massages, always condition the hair if they are dry, if your hair gets oily quick use dry shampoo. I am growing my hair out too. I'ts really hard not to go and just get a nice cut.

My hair is thick and curly, I usually wet my hair using my hands, to make it moist, then on my still wet hands i putt a bit of conditioner, because i like my hair silky smooth. And I just comb my hair with my fingers, I don't use brush or comb because its to even and I don't like how it looks. After I think put into the shape i like i put on a beanie, over my wet hair. After my hair dries up, it doesn't go into random directions, but keeps it shape, and still looks like it just stay like that. I do it in the morning before goin to work or college. I dont think this technique would work for guys with straight hair. I honestly suggest trying as many things as possible for styling your hair. I took me a while to find out what works and what doesn't by myself. Good luck

this shit is starting to annoy me, if I left the sides long it starts to look like a afro, if i trim the sides this shit happens...

I tried everything, no shampoo, only hair conditioner, but stills look like crap. I got a buzzcut like 7 months ago, but I'll never go bald again.

What are your thoughts on not brushing/combing your hair? I have a pretty untame long and wavy/curly hair and i got sick of dealing with knots all the time so i just gave up on brushing it. My hair doesnt look bad this way but i feel like it would look better if i brushed it again idk
