I had it for one and a half years now, didn't have to change the battery yet, from what I hear it's like with standard quartz watches and should be every 2 years or something along those lines.

I think all of the precisionist watches have the sweeping seconds, as do I THINK all of the "accutron II" watches, take a look at those too, more vintage style designs but some cool looking ones there too. Just with the precisionist chronographs it is my understanding that they're not quite as smooth as the three handers

There's never been a Bulova watch anywhere near that expensive to the best of my knowledge, you really think they're suddenly going for the high end luxury market? The lume on any new dive watch from the usual brands, even fagmega, shouldnt' be bad.
Either you've got a dud, you've got a fake, or most likely of all your expectations are not realistic.
Modern big ticket dive watches with C3 or BWG9 superluminova should provide enough glow to be legible in the small hours of the morning without any other light sources around, the former being much more apt at this than the latter.

Watch lume is not a torch. It's not a electro-luminescent thing like on casios or timex. Every single "lume-shot" you see by fags online is misleading.
It's going to glow like shit if you've kept it indoors all day, or worn it under a sleeve all day.
If you want a constant, low glow go buy one of those meme brands that use tritium gas vials but keep in mind you'll be SOL in a decade or so when the tubes are at half strength and in about 20 when they're dead they'll be absolutely useless; at least superluminova and its derivatives can be re-applied though I've not yet heard of any need for such beyond instances of water damage.

No. Only Rolex is Rolex. If you're trying to impress the hoi polloi, they are looking for the Crown. Tudor is a great watch, that's well made at decent price.

But be honest, if you're trying to impress watch nerds, Tudor doesn't do the trick, if you're trying to impress non nerds, Tudor doesn't do the trick. If you're buying a watch for its tool value, other brands do the job at similar spec for less money.

Tudor is good, it just doesn't check any box except individual preference... and if it checks that box for you, you shouldn't care about the opinion of anons on a Malaysian Knitting imageboard.

Got used to it pretty fast. It's not really THAT much clutter and they made sure the hands are different enough so that you won't confuse them.
On another note, a typical service for this watch will cost around 200 euros every 2 years (assuming there's no damage and no replacement parts are needed).

You can get a good one (steel case) for lapprox 1200 euros. Since it has been discontinued, some people try to sell them higher than that.

Tl;dr: darkness is good for lume, sunlight is bad for lume, but it's not something that actually matters outside of extremely rare and collectable watches you're trying to preserve for a century.

I've had the Hamilton for 3 years, and it's excellent. I dont treat it gently, and it keeps on keeping on. Readable, good lume, great crystal and excellent face. The Khaki Auto is imho the best bang for buck tool automatic.
>>14968474
It's a 1952 Tissot Bumper Auto.

>> No.14968499

>>14968471
I have fairly small wrists, and the Khaki Auto fits great. I tried on the King Auto and vastly preferred the standard. Seriously, I've banged the Khaki around mercilessly, hard to tell in the pictures, but it's scuffed and scarred up, including some deep scars from a sailboat backstay. I sheared a strap pin straight off once and dropped the watch in 60 feet of water and a buddy fetched it from the Seafloor.

>> No.14968528

>>14968499
I'm not sure why the mechanical and the king tend to get more praise than the auto. At first I really liked the day complication on the king but soon the appeal wore off and I liked the cleaner look of the auto. Neither have water resistance as good as the auto as well

>> No.14968539

>>14968528
Honestly I think its price and size. The mechanical is substantially cheaper, the auto is substantially larger... the Auto is 38mm, a great size but "small" for a lot of buyers who want a honking great watch in the modern style. The big day window at 12 also ruins the aesthetic of a classic military face imho.

The Khaki Auto is literally the best of the three for features and cost.

The Miyota 9015 series tends to be just about the thinnest you can get before getting closer to the ETA 2892 which is usually ~$300 for just the assembled movement wholesale.

I'd say your best bet is probably one of the newer orient commuter/maestro/symphony models or a presage. You can still find the sarb035/033 for around $350-400 if you look hard enough, and the SARY147 isn't super thick either.
Citizen, unfortunately doesn't really make much in terms of automatics anymore which is a real shame because the 9015 is a much better movement than the NH35 and can fairly easily be regulated to +/-4s while still being a 4Hz movement. If you're willing to spend a bit more, Tissot also has a couple of decent watches around $450 that are not super far away from what you're looking for, though none of them are Bauhaus inspired as far as I'm aware. The cheapest well made "Bauhaus" I can think of is Sternglas but they use the Miyota 8215 which is a bummer.

Aftermarket support for mechanical watches under $1000 is going to be junk anyways unless it's a Seiko so I'm not sure really why that's a concern in this price range for you. I'd just focus on one you like, get a couple straps for it and just take care of it without worrying about trying to modify something like that.

Patek are leaders in everything from pocket watches, table clocks, enameling, stone setting, grand complications (especially their minute repeaters are known as the best in the world)
The only other major company that can match up to them in finishing and quality (among some of the independents) is Lange and they just somewhat recently got into grand complications and sports watches, one being massively oversized and the other having a shit tier bracelet.
Rolex has their place and they make great watches, but it's a different division of the market.
Patek and Rolex don't really compete and to say that Patek is only known for the Nautilus shows complete lack of knowledge.

Two reasons for two types:
1) typical cashed up hype chasing whore that wants ROO's, Daytonas, Nautili all the way up to RM all because other people have them:
>none of these types own breguet, so none of the others buy them
why do none of that above demographic buy breguet?
>no sports themed watches
sports watches are IN at the moment because the only people who could afford expensive shit was literal old boomer men with mid/late-life crises that look around and see sports/rockstar/rapper/instahoes wearing these sports watches, so they all go out and buy this shit in an attempt to feel young. Also, the theme over the past 15 years has been big watches because of the chinese and russian markets who all wanted massive totems of conspicuous consumption; up until relatively recently the largest watches were all sporty watches.

Breguet is the quintessential definition of an "old man's" watch, and no one wants to be an old man especially old men with money. Almost all dress and maybe two sportish designs that haven't gone anywhere. No one wants dress watches now, and if perchance you are in the market for a dress watch in the 20k and up category you'll probably cast your eye to patek, vc or lange.

2) people who aren't hype chasing whores that may not want a sports watch or are actual collectors:
>breguet doesn't have an interrupted history - patchy history
>breguet is not independent and is slave to a massive shitty conglomerate

The fact that patek doesn't fall into either of those categories plays no small part in its popularity with real collectors, and one of the reasons why VC just can't get to PPs level since it's a richemont drone.

The "collector" trusts the fact that the independent company isn't (as) susceptible to the fickle whims of private equity, where faceless hordes of stock owners demand corner cutting and other shit in order to squeeze that extra half cent out of the revenue (in theory).
PP, AP, Rolex are independent.

It's an omega cal 485. I can't read the serial but if it is 29 then it's from 1969. The reference number is 511.321, or 511.0321 in the new system.

It's certainly real. The bracelet is probably not original. Can't tell if it's a redial from the picture but probably not.

My collection, minus a few. D&G watch is the shittiest one in my collection, have tried to sell it or get rid of it multiple times but i lost the links and nobody wants it. Still looks pretty nice but i'm too embarrassed to wear it.

I see what people mean when they say "you dont need that many watches".
Why the redundancy?

Fake brand that shouldn't exist. It only exists because it has to satisfy a certain market segment (dumb poor people) who otherwise wouldn't give enough money to Swissjews. You'll be wanting to upgrade from it to a real watch, giving Swissjews even more money, in a month to a year, whenever you get informed, get the reactions of your peers, or get more money.

Are you happy with them? If so, cool. Your collection doesn't need to be set up the same way as everyone else's so long as you're actually wearing and enjoying them.

You're paying more than a Japanese price for an almost entirely Chinese watch that just happens to have a slightly modified Rhonda or ETA in it. If you like the designs and prefer having an ETA over a comparably built/regulated Miyota (9015 base) or Seiko 6R platform, they certainly aren't a bad choice in their price range.

I like the new powermatic 80 silicium, but I'd probably just buy a SARX instead if I'm spending around $800 retail on it, but that's just me.

I remember when i was a kid my cousin thought he was super dope because he had a $100 fossil watch. Lol, good times. My dad gave me a gucci 7700m when i was a kid so i was top dog as far as watch game went. Also had this swiss army watch my dad gave me which i loved dearly. Dad wore this in haiti during his army days.

I have one just like that (except with army green casing) that my father gave me as well. I put it on a gray canvas strap and it has been serving me well.
