There are plenty of inserts, even for a few dollars online. They are not noticeable around 2 inches. You just have to wear boots and make sure they are not too tight. They will go in converse chucks too, the the ankle length ones, usually better in canvas shoes as it's more flexible.

I've been wearing them for 4 years, at first I only wore timbs all the time. Then, I moved on to other shoes, I have a bunch of high tops and y3 suberous that cover it up easily. Sometimes I'll just wear black socks and black shoes and wear non-high tops and no one notices. Even if they did, I wouldn't have a problem admitting it.
