Ventured out to autisticly grab some samples of Philosykos EDT, EDP, and Eau de Minthe today from a nearby parfum specialist store and on my way through the local department store across from it, they surprisingly had testers for almost everything from Tom Ford out to try, so I thought I might as well try out Black Orchid and one of the only Tom Fords to elude me for so long, Lost Cherry.
Let me tell you right off the bat, Lost Cherry is one of the most potent and sensual fragrances I’ve ever put my nose on, it’s sweet intoxicating sex served straight to your olfactory senses. Not going to lie, I couldn’t stop myself from literally rolling my eyes into the back of my head.
It’s that good.
Do yourself a favour and try it out if you can come across it.

It’s in the same vein as black afgano tar-y and very resinous. Smelled like scalding red hot molten rock with all kind of incense and mryh. Weed note and some citrus. Really since, smells like an evil genie. Legit got a compliment but the person thought it was very strange. Wearing plain Caron Yuzu Man to work today, very nice. I am catching the odd waft from myself but I think for work purposes it will be more suited to layering with Guerlain Vetiver to boost the longevity which I've done a few times now since getting it and enjoy a lot. .quorum is a nice buisness woody incense fragrence.
.aqua quorum is a refreshing voilet and ocean fragrance that is great in the spring and summer.

My personal favorite scent desu. It has a very woody, and strong, but not overbearing scent. To me it smells like what a person who goes vinyl record shopping and cafe place hopping.

Mount Blanc Legend Spirit is my go to day to day. It smells pretty good and I get compliments consistently.

Used to have Dior Homme. Liked it for a while from what I remember, but then I think I started finding it a bit too sweet/strong. Still nice though. I think I also liked l'homme from ysl from the last batch of perfumes I had. My ex used to love The Scent by Hugo Boss so I wore that a lot as well. I hated Sauvage even though I liked it at the store for some reason. Tried Tom Ford Mandarino di Amalfi once at Douglas and found it unbearably strong and kind of nasty, but I think it was because the worker who was helping me oversprayed it.
At the moment I have Cool Water by Davidoff (almost never wear it, smells like aftershave), Moschino Uomo? (it was a gift and it's almost too sweet but I like it), Paco Rebanne Paco (it's fine) and Versace The Dreamer (used to really like it, but now there's something that bothers me about the top notes). I bought the 3 that weren't gifted to me blind since I needed a perfume and they were cheap as shit.
I apologise for the blogpost, but maybe this will give you an idea of what I might like.

I think I've formed a habit due to audio equipment. With headphones, for example, the best are generally not the mainstream ones, so whenever I look for something I try to learn what brands/products the enthusiasts like/respect.
Basically I'm hoping to find a couple of well respected, semi-obscure fragrances that work well for me and then stick with them for years.

I think the community you're choosing to ask is not quite the right one. You should be choosing a community that uses fragrances as a seduction tool. Most online fragrance enthusiasts hate on fragrances that eventually become best sellers. Bleu de Chanel and Sauvage are clear examples. Surprisingly, most women end up loving Bleu de Chanel and Sauvage on men. My theory behind it is that most online fragrance enthusiasts are attracted to fragrances because of their personality. I don't think Eros or Boss Bottled Intense would be bad options if you feel good about it. Most mainstream fragrances should be quite attractive. It is only when you're really pushing for the most attractive fragrance that it becomes more BdC/Sauvage/La Nuit etc etc.
