Why the FUCK do I feel pretty cute when I look in the mirror but I look like a permavirgin whenever I pull out my front camera

Mirroring the image shouldn’t make my face look bloated, my nose way bigger and my eyes smaller.
Other photos I look ok, but my phones front camera makes me look crazy ugly 90% of the time

Front-facing cameras usually have very wide angle lenses. People usually look like shit through wides, there's a reason professional portraiture is done with telephotos. What you see with your own eyes in the mirror is about equivalent to a 50mm lens, the quintessential portrait lens is 85mm, and front-facing phone cameras are usually like 28mm.

What I don't know is how the fuck anybody manages to look good through them.
