I want them to. The aesthetic of old biker, prison and sailor tattoos is the best. Fenriz made a comment in an interview somewhere about getting shitty tattoos to keep the original rebellious nature of them. Every hipster faggot and urbanite girly girl is gonna have their well done Japanese half sleeve or cute script and that may be watering down the meaning of tattoos as a whole but for every one of them I've seen i also see some sketchy white trash dude with a shitty snake that probably got done in a garage and that's fucking rad. I say this though because my grandfather was a greaser in the 50s, my dad a biker in 70s and I was a punk in the 90s and i want that outcast stigma to last at least through my lifetime.

I am 30 now, started my sleeve a few months ago, 2 sessions in, at least 2 more ahead. At the same time I am a structural engineer with masters working at a nice company and I have started my sleeve after being a year in work here. Nobody bats an eye anymore, except the older collegues, literally the "tattoos are primitive and for tards" is non-existent. As for what looks good, I have to agree to a certain extent, russian prison tats don't look good on skinny people and vice versa, irezumi looks bad on beefy guys.
I think tattoos should be an informed choice and be expensive, unaccessible for young people. Only when they have a career make a choice if they want one and where. Waiting untill "you are the best version of yourself" is kinda pointless, what if that adds to your best version? I fly 2 hours for each of my sessions, not regretting paying more for the best tattoo I can imagine on myself. It should be an investment, not a fashion statement or a fad.

Tattoos can do weird shit depending on its condition/location on the body during those first couple days of healing.

I've had tattoos heal in solid as fuck & other lose ink in weird areas & weird ways that leave no scarring or skin damage, just lose/fading of ink.

But lucky with tattoos you can just blast that shit up again in most cases with no issue.
