Help me /fa. I wish to become the wizard. I have fallen in love with the look of great wizards, with their flowing long beards, comfy robes. And cool hats.

Please give me some suggestions and outfit inspo on wizard-like outfits I can try.

id start with clothes that are mostly neutrals and Grey's, maybe get some long cardigans and let your hair go wild idk why but i think wools and really thick materials are wizardy like burlap or canvas or whatever the thick dense one is. Not sure what you should do for pants though desu but i wouldn't jump straight to a cloak i think it'd look like you were cosplaying

The imagery that informs the wizard archetype is basically orientalism for the most part. Not necessarily drawn from any specific culture, but more that a wizard should look a little bit foreign wherever he or she is; gotta cultivate that mystery anon.

The pointy hat should be for special occasions; it has the same meaning, and shape, as a traffic cone; it says: "I have authority, go around me."

However that said, you definitely want same kind of visible mark of weirdness. To occupy the place of wizard in the collective psyche you need some kind of special little badge or mark or symbol. Case in point, Alan Moore's rings which he describes as 'finger armour'.

There is a homeless guy who walks around my city aimlessly, and he dresses very outlandishly but in a weirdly cool way. Obviously mentally ill but damn if he doesn't look sick as fuck.

I think they are probably fashion minded people who have confused schizophrenia.

They both wear many layers of strange clothes, american flag bandanna wrapped around a top hat over a carnevale mask, jean shorts with painted handprints over another pair of jeans over cowboy boots and spurs and a women's blouse with a leather vest. It's hard to say exactly why but something about the multiple unecessary layers and ostentatious accessories screams 'wizard' to me.

He looks a little bit hobo, a little bit witch doctor and a little bit rock star. It's like he sold his mind to the devil in exchange for the sickest style ever.

Get a long cardigan 2. Get some long pants (that's what I did for the pants) 3. Wear clothes that are mostly neutrals or grey's (and i do wear grey's so they arent weird) 4. Get a scarf or a headband or something and throw it on your head like a helmet or something like that. 5. Go out and be active. Go to the park, hike, swim, ride a bike, go to a yoga class, take a swim in the ocean, anything that will get your body moving and your mind thinking about going to the mall or whatever. You wont need to go shopping, it just gives you a little break, even though you will probably buy some shit in the mall, but that will still give you something to wear.

My favorite store to shop for is Target.

I also love J. Crew, Gap, Ann Taylor, American Eagle, Abercrombie & Fitch, etc.

OP do you live in a tropical climate or a temperate one? A wizard should be in tune with his surroundings and the rhythms, both natural and unnatural, of the world around him.

If it gets hot or humid where you live then there is a lot of potential in rough light fabrics light linen and hemp, there's a lot of overlap between hippies and wizards, partly comes down to the orientalism I mentioned earlier as a way of setting oneself apart from conventional lifestyle.
