God I love fougeres
I love to spray it before going for a run and mixing it with my man musk
When I get home I give my baby girl a big bear hug
>you're such a big guy for me
She loudly yelps as if she wanted the world to know
Then she gets a little uncomfy with how long I'm holding it
>L-let go please
she starts turning her head away from me
I palm her head like a basket ball and keep her still and she realizes that even my wrist is stronger than her neck
The snice lavender, oakmoss, sage, citrus and spices super saturates the air like flak over britian during the blitz
She tries pathetically to slap me but can't even move her shoulders and it comes off more let light petting
next comes the whimpering and tears
>daddy please stop I'm getting really really dizzy
she manages to whimper out
>ah yes I was wondering what would break first, your spirit or your body
as she goes limp I let her go
The soft cackling of Pierre Bourdon, Tom Ford and PatriCIA de Nicolai can be heard
sometime later she wakes up tucked into bed with a cup of hot chocolate on her night table
Beside it theres a bottle of chance eau tendre with a note
>for my one and only xoxo daddy

feels good to be a fougere chad

Trying out this:
>L’Eau d’Ambre Extrême - Eau de Parfum
>A trip into the opulence of the 1930s. The scent of luxurious furs, of an oriental breeze, waves of amber and gold spices. By Jean-Claude Ellena

Very ambery/spicy opening, pretty powerful and heavy. It does bring up images of the past yet it doesn't feel dated. Definitely for the fall/winter. It doesn't feel synthetic at all, and I don't get any of the powdery note I read on some description. Going to test longevity, but so far so good. Will definitely try wearing it in the office one of these days.

He’s a very talented perfumer who happens to also be a very strange, probably very troubled person and is also very flaky. He makes announcements about new scents, then they just don’t happen, or they happen months or years later. He runs out of stock very quickly and puts off making more. He doesn’t communicate well, if you email him, there’s about a 90% chance you’re not gonna get a response, he rarely updates his Instagram. He just makes it needlessly difficult to actual get his stuff basically just because he’d rather meditate out in the woods or do drugs or whatever than actually deliver what he promises.

We had the Bistecca in two different places, both kinda tourist traps I guess. One in the main square, the Piazza della Signoria, and another one right across from the Duomo, their names escape me right now.
We tried to go to a fancy restaurant on the other side of town, almost right across from the entrance to the Boboli Gardens, but it was packed and you could only get in with a reservation. So then we had dinner right across from the Pitti Palace. The food was all superb, I must say, even at the places that were more tourist-trap-y.

If an Indian dude comes up to their door, they either say they have an appointment coming soon, or quote them a ridiculous price and see if they’re dumb enough to take it. went on a smelling spree. Here are my findings
>Serge Lutens Ambre sultan
Nope, smelled like pajeet
>armani code
very snice, but poor longevity and becomes skin scent soon
>boss bottled intense
not bad, but didn't wow me
>versace dylan blue
unremarkable
>givenchy gentlemen only absolute
smelled good at first, but then started to smell more and more like Million Prive, which I hate
>A*man Kryptomint
great at first, light and foresty and minty, but then this gross oud-like note started to takeover and ruin it. too bad
>Bvlgari aqva
forget which one I smelled. It was okay, want to revisit this lineup
>Kenzo homme
smelled odd in a bad way
>Chanel allure homme sport
snice, but kinda generic and boring
>Luna Rossa sport
snice. Fresh but also not boring.
>Givenchy Pi
interesting. Copped a sample, will have to try it more

Liked the last 2 the best. And is it just me, or do most of Serge Lutens evoke pajeet smell? Why?

Why did you go on a pleb spree? Hit the mall? Thanks for the report though. I've never smelled Ambre Sultan but I did not imagine it smelling pajeet at all. Yeah, full bottles.

Sadanne is champagne, rose, and strawberries with funky ambergris. Might lean somewhat feminine, but is animalic enough to be unisex. Probably be very sexy on a lady. Basically Valentines Day in a bottle.

Kiste is sweet honeyed peach and tobacco, a bit spicy. It’s better for winter, since it’s rather heavy and sweet, but smells very summery if that makes any sense.

Grev is sort of Norne light. Smells like one of those little trees air fresheners plus clove. It’s more forest during the day to Norne’s spooky nighttime forest.

All have crazy performance. Don’t go more than 2-3 sprays tops.

I’ll give my impressions on Norne when my bottle comes. I sampled it and liked it a lot, but I don’t remember it enough to review it.

I'm looking for a citrus scent for my collection. Not going with TDH, I've sampled it thoroughly and it's just not for me. I've tried FM Bigarade Concentre (by the same guy as TDH) and I love it, but sadly it only lasts 2-3 hours on me. I've tried ELDO's Cologne, again I love the soft orange smell, but no longevity. Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino is nice, but it feels a bit too clean and sharp. Now I'm trying out pic related, L'Artisan Parfumeur's Histoire d'Orangers. We'll see if this lasts.

What are some other great citrus frags I should try out? I'm waiting for Atelier Cologne's Orange Sanguine to arrive (blind buy, I know I shouldn't have done it, but...), and I might get their sample kit, which is full of citrus frags.

Fucking Fabulous is completely different. Smells sort of like powdery amaretto, with leather, and clary sage and lavender. I love it, but won’t be for everyone. Some people find it a bit harsh and some people don’t like the amaretto candy thing it has going. Very worth trying, though.

I do think Tuxedo is more versatile overall, but both a worth trying, and obviously it seems Tuxedo might not be your thing.

Nah, haven’t been to Hema. I think there’s one kinda near the Skins on Kalverstraat, I’ll have to give it a go next time. One of the great things about Febo is there’s one right in De Wallen and it’s open until 3:00. Very convenient for a late night after sex snack. I’m also often drunk when I go, so not having to deal with people to get hot food is nice.

>Tuxedo

there's a story to be told. of good and evil. a cosmic schism, a wild funnel where the point of singularity, the final escape is only the beginning. the story is true and it's become a cold tale told in warm places. a story of the eater and the eaten. people speak of ysl. yes, they speak of the house and it's cherished, it's glistenings. of it's revered, always it's revered with that air of sophistication, of softness and care. something complacent and beautiful and has made a custom of turning it's back on it's wicked dealings, it's past it hopes to forget in the silence of death. this has become futile, because in the years since the tremor has only become more violent, and in these years they've learned to disregard the hunger. they've starved it but is doesn't die. it only becomes hungrier... and in it's place they've become a symbol of regality, of sterile streamlined luxury in a white room. le vestiaire des parfums they call it. simplicity and elegance. a swooning dance in sweeping silk on a bed of vapors... a dream even. all in vain because it's been fed only the best, and it's never known a want. it's slept ceaslessly, carelessly above the earth where at it's center spins in pangs of hunger and fury, of agony something brutish. they say it may come later. but later is now, the hour is now. it's been a matter of then but not now and then is now and now has been here forever... and they say to always remember that saying said only in the dark: "Tuxedo is the mother, Kouros is the wolf."

If I make any niche purchases next year I think they will be from stores in Europe. Looking at Selfridges site some Frederic Malle 100ml bottles are around $180. The new Rose & Cuir is $110 cheaper than retail in the US. Comme des Garcons stuff seems to be $20-$40 cheaper. Aesop the same story.

I don't have much of a nose for fragrance yet so I'm probably bad to ask but I think it's main character is warm vanilla and florals, and I'd definitely call it warm rather than sweet. I wouldn't be surprised if it had vetiver in it, but it doesn't - I guess it's the way the citrus and some of the basenotes play off. Unisex but definitely masculine leaning - I'm apparently supposed to pick out a leather accord apparently, but all those masuline undetones blend together in a general kind of resiny character. I don't often dress seriously enough for it to fit.

I've tried some frags I thought smelled quite dated. This is mature, perhaps too mature for me, but not dated.

Luna Rossa Carbon is a really good transition frag for those of you looking to move from blue frags to proper fougeres. It’s very nice but firm, I’d call it “assertive lavender” if I were Luca Turin. It has an afterscent which I love, with a vanilla accord that coats your nose like tea does your throat. Similar to Sauvage, yes - but if Sauvage is Johnny Depp in the fragrance adverts then LRC is Johnny Depp if he got out of the desert, took off that stupid jewelry, and stopped spending $2 million a month on drugs, booze, and food. It’s a perfect introduction to the daddychad miasma for those looking to adopt it, or a great daily driver for those who want one. One final word about it: if you can’t smell it on yourself, PEOPLE CAN STILL SMELL IT ON YOU. It’s a definite noseblinder. You can find 100 mL on eBay for like $60, so go get it.
