The likelihood that you personally associate these old man vibes with your own parents is extremely low because there is almost no chance your own parents smelled this way. If you’re in your 20s then the likelihood that your parents smelled like this is extremely low because it was not at all common or popular at the time.

Example: I associate Chanel No.5 with old lady perfume. I don’t associate it with my mom or grandma because they didn’t wear chanel no.5. I have a good relationship with both, but I don’t think it’s sexy if some girl smells like my mom (which wouldn’t be an old lady perfume).

Rive Gauche is fairly similar to Azzaro Pour Homme and Drakkar Noir, maybe halfway between both. It doesn't have the spiciness of APH and it doesn't have the sharp angular dihydromyrcenol of Drakkar Noir. Mostly a smooth lavender/coumarin/rosemary fragrance with some slight woodyness and mossyness.

Fougeres started being loaded with dihydromyrcenol when Paco Rabanne PH was released, so look for fougeres released before the 70s. You might want to look into Caron Pour un Homme, Pino Silvestre (although new bottles do have dihydromyrcenol but not much), Fougere Royale, etc. Rive Gauche also has not much dihydromyrcenol and is very smooth like I told that other anon, so maybe look into that if you can find it.
