As a nineteen (going on 20) year old, how do I dress? I still look like a toddler. How do I look better? I've checked the sticky and it looks more like things NOT to do. Do I just need to work out or is there some sort of style that would actually suit me?

>> No.14770116

Jeans and monocoloured t-shirts. Don't overdo accessories, wear nice shoes, they would be the real telling of your taste and status.

Nigga are you a boy or a girl?

Thanks, man! Honestly, I wasn't expecting any help on here, but that actually helps a tonne. I was concerned that the boring t-shirt and jeans combo might not impress anyone. Do you think that a blazer/jacket is possible or do I simply look to young, like the sticky says?

Just a fat fuck insecure dude, tbqhwyf.

It's only three basic steps

>Find people that you think dress well, key word YOU

>Figure out what you like about their outfit, why it looks good and how to put it into words

>From that point it's just a process of trail and error as your growing knowledge catches up to your taste

Basically you already know what looks "good" your issue is explaining why, as soon as you can explain why you've made it.

Sticky was written by an American for Americans but is still useful even if you're not from the USA, I recommend you to reread as you obviously missed this part:

also, having a beard would help you a lot

Appreciate it tonnes! I've tried to use David Duchovny, Marilyn Manson and ex gfs tastes as inspiration, but it doesn't seem to serve me well. I just wanna know what I'm doing wrong. I like the Miami Vice aesthetic too, but who knows? The other thing is that it's approaching summer and I have some stuff on my wrists and all of that which I'd much rather not have publicised.

I basically wear these two pairs of shoes all the time. :') I'd like to grow a beard, but I can never grow a full one, so I figure that the wispy fuzz isn't the best way to go.

Yeah dude, the most important thing is that you're doing you, otherwise you'll just be chasing trends and turn something that should be enjoyable into something rigid and anxious.

Post pics of David Duchovny and Miami Vice and whatever else you think looks good, and maybe we can help you deconstruct it.

Yeah you look so much like this noise guy I know.

Anyways, blazers are totally fine man, just remember patch pockets = casual, flaps = possibly a suit jacket. When you buy a blazer worry about how it fits on your shoulders/make sure the shoulder seam starts at your shoulder. This is the most important measurement since everything else can be modified. (cept the chest)

Start by getting chinos, polos, dress shirts and knitwear (last point depending on your local climate). Then you can try adding a blazer to that. Avoid black stuff and hard to pair colors/patterns.

In a nice way from an old dude.. you are still just a kid. Dress like a teenager. You are supposed to look like a toddler at your age. If you look like a man at 19 you will look like shit at 35.

Or browse and see what looks interest you and what you like and learn to get a few pieces and dress that way.

Just follow basics like clothes that actually fit.

Sorry that it's taken me a while to respond, guys. I grabbed some images that I like. I also like tweed jackets - basically anything that looks kind of retro.

Chinos, t-shirt, demin jacket, I guess. It's how you feel. Those around you will probably dress that way so if you go too different it might come across as strange if you are not confident.

Your image has a few different looks and different eras like 80s and 90s with Manson being different to both of those.

You could dress in the above like chino pants, a sweater and tweed jacket.

I can't thank you enough! I'm really happy to sound that it won't come across as looking too bad if I'm just confident. I'll try to learn to feel that way. ^_^

Anyway, thank you all very much for your input. I might just delete the thread now, but I'm really glad that you guys helped me out. It means a lot.

Well striaght away I can see that you like shirts that drape (Top left pic and middle right)

You'll want to look for shirts made out of these materials:

>Rayon
>Viscose
>Lyocell
>Mercerized cotton
>Modal

Ah well, I can't seem to delete the thread. But thank you for that! I appreciate it! I own a viscose shirt, although I might need to pick up a couple more. Much appreciated! :D

this minus the beard thing. if you have a nice jawline it's much better than a beard. tough to tell with the profile you've posted.
>>14770142
get more basic sneakers like margielas or svenssons or gazelles or the german adidas ones I can't seem to remember the name of.
don't worry about boots until you're about 24

Listen here little baby. You're gonna get a lot of hurtful and degrading comments, but that ain't what I'm about. Let me just say, you are perfect the way you are. You hear me sugar? PERFECT. Don't ever change. You deserve anything and everything you want. Stay safe for me, baby girl.
