hey guys, an adult here.
is there any reason why I shouldn't just buy all my stuff from COS and call it a day?
Thanks in advance.

Their sizing is wonky, as expected of a brand owned by H&M

All sizing is wonky
Because consumers are fat but don't like to admit it

Those. Sizing is just weird in most cases and a majority of clothes have little things that make them off putting. Like, details ruining an entire piece of clothing.
Also, yes COS is just overprized. The prize isn't even that high but for that amount I'd expect clothes to hold better. The pockets are terrible and get holes within <6 months of use from my experience (bought two pants from there)

Because COS is cheap fast fashion shit that's made in sweatshops, but it's marketed as ""affordable luxury"". You can't polish a turd.

>> No.14760583

cos has some nice stuff imo, as well as a lot of weird shit idk who wears

>> No.14760632

it’s not bad design-wise, just severely overpriced given the quality. and yes, sizing is all over the place and cuts tend to be boxy. that said, if you have no idea what you’re doing and/or no interest in fashion, going full scandi minimalism isn’t the worst thing you can do.

a lot of stuff is oversized and somewhat anti fitting, really depends on the season i think
also had shirts that held up way longer than expected, never had quality issues

Any brands of a similar aesthetic to cos but equal or slightly higher price range?

You totally should I wasted far too much money on things like Yoji that are the same aesthetic. Perhaps you could always buy the odd pair of designer shoes to mark up your outfit.

I have a couple things from there. I find that while they look good in the product photos (and marginally so in real life) the quality leaves a lot to be desired. COS quality is in fact not worth the asking price... maybe on sale.
Instead, I suggest the following: buy fewer, but better, clothes. You can get secondhand designer for about two to three times the amount that the average COS item of the same category goes for (except outerwear, which tends to exponentially increase in price as you go up the chain), but the difference in quality is really worth it.
Otherwise just embrace the neofolk aesthetic and wear milsurp.
