I am tired of sneakers and want some kind of footwear that is nicer, lasts longer and more mature. What sort of footwear do you recommend me? I was thinking about something like what appears on pic

Derbies or loafers. Personally I'm fully commited to /loafergang/.
Those in your pic are norwegian split toe derbies, theyre nice

Check out the docs (I think they're the 1461). Probably normcore for some but they're nice shoes imo

Depends on what the rest of your wardrobe is like. Formal shoes will look stupid with overly casual clothing. Boots are probably a good midpoint that can still work with more casual clothes.

Also a word of warning, if you want leather shoes to last longer, make sure to read up on and follow leather care guides, and probably avoid leather soles if you want to wear them out and about.

Good goodyear welted footwear in the under 350€ price range:

Meermin
Yanko
Morjas
Carlos Santos
Myrqvist
Loake 1880
Sanders
Skolyx
Shoepassion

I live in Europe, so these are all brands available there online. Dunno about American brands.

Anyway, I'd recommend you a pair of plain toe bluchers, split toe derbies and longwing brogues.

I can recommend Myrqvist as well. Cheapest good year welt Ive found. Its some weird rubber sole thougj, not dainite or vibram but the leather is all good and the sole can be switched out when its worn down of course.

Virtually all formal and dress shoes have leather soles. Really the only reason you'd have dress shoes with a rubber sole would be if they were your dedicated rain/snow pair. They're is nothing more tacky than showing up to the office with rubber soles on your oxfords.

I don't pay that much. I get them on sale or at estate sales or slightly worn from a few reputable sources for such things. I bought a pair of Brioni shoes for $125 that had been worn at a fashion show one time. They're worth 1500. Here's a pic after I wore them 3 or so times to teach.

I also really like Myrqvist. My girlfriend has very large feet (41,5) and Myrqvist chelseas fit her like a charm, despite all other brands like Loake failing. I think the sole is some imitation dainite, but it has held up pretty great so far.

>>14727189

I might remember wrong then, but I bought a pair of their penny loafers a year and a half ago for about 300€ from a brick and mortar store in Finland. Must have upped their prices since then!

>>14727479

I really like loafers as well, but just prefer brogue derbies since loafers are so tricky to size correctly. I didn't know that brogues were thought of as cringey in the States, here they are perhaps the most inoffensive dressier shoe you can have.

It does NOT last longer.
source : any bootmaker will tell you so, don't know if you have many of them in america lmao

Also you need to put a half rubber sole on your leather soles if you want them to last at all.
Walking on leather without a Topy is fucking shit unless you wear your pair once a week when it doesn't rain and you know you won't walk on carpet (it's terrible for leather soles). Any competent cobbler can put you a half rubber sole without
making your shoe look heavier.
