What’s effay’s opinion on splurging on a near thousand dollar vintage watch?

Pic related - looking to get a similar piece tho I have considered an omega geneve or seamaster - i do prefer the look of the Seiko more.

Noting that I am a 27 year old wagie, so this much for a watch will definitely break the proverbial bank (ill still have enough behind however)

Thanks for the suggestion - actually looking into it now.

How are the movements on these things?

You think Seiko 5 and grand are anything alike?

The seikon5 movements are not in house and mostly plastic

>> No.14708275

Grand seikos are in house made in Japan and are cosc chronometer certified

Nope, I don’t. Its Really just more of a consideration in the price range, and comparative value. Granted the materials and movements are different.

I’m just looking for a good dress watch - and something that will last.

Oh then for that Seiko makes another brand mechanical watch that's around 5 pricing but better materials
