How do I bring this style back without looking being a phony?

>> No.14671984

Just wear it? At that stage in your picture, you will miss a tie and the suit jacket.

>> No.14672003

wearing the whole thing will makes you look like an aspie Mad Men cosplayer. The pants can definitely be incorporated into something looking a bit more modern, but those shirts are wayy too outdated

Those pants tucked into a tee with a casual jacket or shirt over it is a pretty standard look.

Styling a shirt like that as a Hawaiian might work. Slimmer pants, understated shoes, allowing the billow and drape of the shirt to be the statement. Assuming you can find shirts in a fun material the contrast would be nice.

Slim bottoms totally ruin the fit, especially since so many of them have a low rise (including yours). Your proportions are way off

If you try to dress like OPs pic you will look bad. You have to identify elements of the inspiration and modernize them. That fit has high waisted pants, modernized. Wide, straight fit reminiscent of old pants, cropped as is the trend today.
I understand that you are not into experimentation in fashion so I am trying to educate you on how designers inform their clothes.

>> No.14674933

You dress in that style but slightly different.

I've got a few outfits that are kinda old timey 60s business core, but idead of larping with an outfit of that area i'll change it with a more modern shirt, or have a pair of pants that are basically the same, but with a slightly more modern cut.

Those outfits are kinda cool, but you'll look like a dweeb if you go full replica. It just looks out of place.

>If you try to dress like OPs pic you will look bad
Reviewbrah has already proven this not to be the case, you can call him a nerd if you like but his consistency and proportions are spot on. You can claim you're "experimenting" with a modernised update of a classic wider fit all you want, but the only "inspiration" you're allegedly gleaming from the style in the OP is the wide fit and higher rise, There's almost nothing else to indicate they're related in some way. It's hilarious you think you're explaining something new to me about how fashion works when you can't even dress yourself competently.

Each of the fits I posted except for the last have other elements of 40's casual formal-wear. Tucked, loose upper with wide shoulders. Cinched waist. Elongated leg silhouette. Formal coat if worn.
Dressing in 40s menswear will alienate you. If he didn't care about social stigma he would just wear the fits posted. The fits I posted are a way to look similar without looking strange.
