ok ive searched far and wide to no avail. where the hell can i find some straight legged chinos with a higher rise like pic related. preferably in a variety of colors (khaki, olive, tobacco, etc.) Also cords that fit like this. Also I'd like for them to be 100% cotton. And if anyone can direct me towards corduroys with the same cut, that'd be great as well.

A lot of French menswear is kind of trash imo. Especially the midrange which has been completely hollowed out by h&m and other super cheap brands. I can only recommend a few brands, few of which are tip. Even if we were only looking at jumpers, the UK completely blows France out of the water.

Shorts and Polos are nice, but absolutely not practical in the tropics (mosquitoes will feast on your exposed skin). Black/blue suits are just too formal here (weddings and all that stuff).
So I thought - how to adapt some of TIP to tropical weather in order to dress nicely in a way that's presentable, yet formal?

Pure white linen suits are just a pain in the ass and are too LARPy (think Colonel Sanders).

I imagine a good leather shoe (They are universally nice), linen pants in lighter colors and pastel or slightly playful shirt or some non-white (off-white to darker) suit with some playful tie and pastel shirt.

I think it's unhelpful to talk about rules. It encourages igent behaviour. A particular style should have certain key items but also am ethos or some guidelines that allow you to follow the style but still have your own individuality.

If you guys could stop shitflinging for a second, I have an actual style question. I own a khaki flap pocket chamois shirt, and I like it, but I am not sure what pants to wear with it. I think that if I wore it with khakis, it would look like I was wearing a sheriff uniform, flannel slacks would be too formal to go with it, and nantucket reds wouldn't look rugged enough. I somewhat agree here. GTH stuff and Madras both existed LONG before the 1980s, but when the OPH popularized them, many people misunderstood and wore multiple pieces at once, leading to fratshit.
