I got a bunch of Christian and gnostic tattoos when I was taking a lot of DMT and LSD to protect me from demons.
I kind of regret them but I'm not going to get them removed. I usually just cover them up.
Wouldn't recommend anybody gets tattoos. The urge to get them can be very strong but it will eventually fade and you'll be glad you didn't give in to temptation.

I recently watch the prisoner of DEH and realized that only good tattoos are unironically just nonsense scribbles done in pure black inc.

Getting a full painting done on your skin is just horrible looking.

In all honesty tho, a detailed anotomical figure on the forearm seems like it might be a little bit weird/out of proportion but I do like the design.

Personally I think it's a great idea. I'd get the same "woodcarving" style of art, but yeah maybe scale it down a bit. It's rare for me to find color tattoos that I like, but for some reason I really really love the look of black tattoos.

You can get quite a significant amount done in a day sitting. Say half of a large area I'd say would be about average, like a half sleeve, half the back or stomach.

If you're gonna spread them out it'd be better to leave the gap longer. I heal and they feel completely fine after two weeks, but the ink takes a month to settle fully.

Cost will probably be your main limitation.

The skelly took an hour, the tree took two hours, and the bison and tunnel each took three. All are relatively the same surface area. Everything except the skelly was the same artist, who works surprisingly fast for the quality of work he produces, which may be why they were done as quickly. I'm kind of in the same boat as you, I live in the middle of nowhere and have to go to a big(ish) city two and a half hours away for tattoos, and my work schedule is kind of unpredictable. I pretty much can't have any multi-day projects because I have a weird OCD and would probably an hero if I had half finished stuff on me for a couple weeks. I digress.

There's tons of great artists in America, you just got to look around and do a lot of research.

Your next step is finding an artist with experience doing blackwork in a style that suits you.

I have ink from Sojung Yeon (goateyedblack on insta) and she's amazing at line work in renaissance and medievil style woodcuts and diagrams. There are plenty of others like sickrosetattoo and daniel_kickflip_tattooer who could also do good jobs.

I have a similar situation, have to drive 2.5 hours to get to the nearest town with a shop I like. Luckily my artist is basically a hidden gem (in my opinion) in that I absolutely love the quality of his work, love the atmosphere of the shop (lots of talented and really friendly artists), and the longest wait time I've had has only been like 3 weeks, and that's only because I can only do saturdays.

Would it be possible to get tattoos of classical paintings?

I'm really into 17th-19th century art but it's hard to tell how this could work out as a good looking tattoo due to the low contrast and realism/detail of the techniques involved

If anyone knows of any tattoo artists that do stuff like this let me know, just no minimalist-edgy-instagram shit please.
