Ye. It's certainly better than say IT cucks competing with a billion pajeets. This is the kind of profession where you get hired on the spot just by showing up. It's how I ended up at this place at least.

Also now I get so much work that I may have to actually shut down everything for a few days just to finish some jobs. I'll have to speak to Mr. Shekelstein though. Would be way simpler if I could have my own fucking shop already.

I think it's the best flightmaster. The quartz chronos commonly referred to as flightmaster aren't actually flightmasters. Aesthetically the diver chrono is my favorite so we'll just have to agree to disagree. I agree the 'gold' double penis is redundant I only bought it to canniibalize the bracelet links for the steel one but that didn't work out.

IMO the movement of that ananta is actually the weak point. The 8r39 has a grand seiko escapement but it's a modular chronograph which makes it very boring to look at compared to say, a 6s series. The 6s28 in that ananta would have been a winner in my book.

Any Marathon TSAR owners here? Are they actually one of the more inaccurate quartz watches out there? I see some people say they run 5 seconds off a week, which by quartz standards sucks.

Normal quartz is like 15 seconds a month, so 5 sec/week isn't too far off. But normal quartz sucks anyway. Get a Certina Precidrive or something instead (10 seconds a year or thereabouts).

Second watch I get from a thrift store (first one was a gift); I actually love this more because it looks vintage and the faded out “gold wash” gives it a lot of character. The dial is light cream colored but here it looks green-ish. Looks a lot better in real life than in pics t bh.

If you are building a collection that can be worn you are pretty much capped at 3-6 pieces. Its hard to wear much more than that, especially because these days a single well chosen luxury watch can serve in almost every situation.

Now imagine you've filled your collection with $400 shitters and finally buy your grail watch. Suddenly you have 3+ watches that you will never wear again, and they have absolutely no resale value because nobody wants them. They are literally garbage. They were always garbage. Shitter watches are on journey to the landfill from the moment they come off the assembly line.

That is the difference between a shitter and a non-shitter. If you grow tired of a Rolex you move it on and it will be enjoyed by someone else. You might even make money on the transaction. Nobody throws out a Rolex.

People don't know what their grail is until they ride the shitter carousel for a while and find out what size/look/type of movement is their preference. Most serious collectors have gone through dozens or hundreds of watches before finally landing on "the one", and they still occasionally wear their old shitters because they fill some niche.

E.g. a Seagull 1963 variant can be had for $250, but the ST19 movement is the only newly produced mechanical column wheel chronograph until you get to Longines level at $2k+. Add to that the unique look, history and authentic military heritage and it fills a niche that nothing else can. People will still be buying these in 20 years.

Of it's just a basic three hander you have three options:
>Calatrava, of which there are two viable models
>Vacheron Patrimony Traditionelle
(the one with the small seconds subdial is best imo)

Of the three, the Patek carries most "prestige" of you give a fuck what others give a fuck.
However it's also the worst since Patek reallt skimped on that shit using a old itty bitty movement from to the 33mm vase size days in a man's sized watch today. Didn't update shit. Just added essentially a spacer to find in the empty space.
The VC looks the best imo, and the new movement has been said by veteran horologists to be designed to be easy to service. Problem: Richemont and all the bullshit associated therewith. Also, the engineering of the movement and probably the design of the watch as a whole came from Jlc, who seems to be the only brains richemont has. So is it a real VC? Or is VC just a shell since all the ingenuity comes from JLC anyway?
The Lange is richemont bit has its own special service centers so you bypass the usual be (there is not Panerai, jlc, vc service center; shit just gets sent to a general richemont center). Meme German special metal the movement is made out of necessitates only official Lange service. Clean design, but also rather boring. Too German.
