Good one.
It's a genuine question. If you want boots to shine then get something made of CXL. Oil tanned doesn't take a shine but here you are trying to over condition them specifically to make them shine. I'm just trying to help you make your boots last longer and can't wrap my head around why you want to do it.

real shit get postwar Canadian parade boots

They're made like Canadian ammo boots they wore during WWII (similar to the Brit ones but plain toe) but they're goodyear welted with rubber outsoles so you don't run into the problems with real period boots. Sort of like US service boots but without the wonky (albeit practical) Munson last, black instead of brown, and plain toe instead of cap toe. If you're in the US or Canada there should be a bunch floating around on Ebay for much cheaper than buying repros.

Bought a pair of WWII impressions boondockers and I'm enjoying them so far. The leather is thick and the insole is stiff so it's gonna take some work to break them in but it's not that bad so far. I plan to dub them and stain the welt but in the meantime the color is a nice almost a straw color but darker in person. Seem to be pretty well made for the price point (200) and are on the cheaper side for boots this style (unstructured toe, rough out leather) Wich usually run +300 for good quality ones. Shoelaces are trash though. thank you for reading my blog post follow me on Twitter and remember to like and subscribe for more

Nice, I live my Blacksmiths. I've never even tried on whites, why are they talked up so much?

>> No.14569855

Whites has always had a legendary reputation for their logger and firefighter boots. Recently they started making more casual and lighter work boots like the MP boot and now more and more people are being introduced to the brand. And Whites as a brand isn't stupid so they're taking advantage of it by making more and more casual boots as well as their work boots. That's why they're getting talked about so much. They had a great casual boot already in the Semi Dress/Bounty Hunter boot, but the MP boot I think is really what opened them up the casual/fashion boot market.
I have two pairs and love them and would absolutely get a third pair if I had the money. And I got extremely lucky on the CXL lottery, mine have amazing creasing and look great.

Regarding Austrian paratrooper boots - what is their sizing like?
Asking because I never ordered online and I wear anything from EUR 45 (Adidas sneakers, Helly Hansen winter shoes and boots), over 43 (some noname combat boots) down to 42 (a pair of dress shoes and dress boots each), so I am legit baffled at how to get it right.

I wear an 8.5d ( I'm between an 8.5d and e) redwing Beckman and fit pretty much perfect, a little room at the toe. Compared to the boondockers the width is pretty much the same but I've got about 3/4 of an inch in length past my toe, I probably could have gotten an 8e and been good. I'm a nine in Adidas sneakers

I’m an accountant and I wear my iron rangers to work every day. All I do is prepare reports and excel spreadsheets in my iron rangers.

Late at night , when everyone in my neighborhood is asleep, I go out side and find oil stains on the ground to rub them in. Also use sandpaper to distress them, and sometimes beat them against trees. It’s the only way to get them distressed and worn looking.

Can anyone relate ?

It's not used it's extra stuff that gets offloaded to the civilian market. Also, Doc Martens probably look more like what you want than modern combat boots do, although I think they're cool. I'm beefy, bald, and wear a lot of white t-shirts though so I kind of have a skinhead thing going on.
