I want to buy my first luxury watch but idk what to get and I don't want to spend too much. I'm a zoomer and only can afford something under like $1500. What entry level luxury watches do you guys recommend? I was thinking about coping a speedy reduced but idk.

Oris has some cool looking watches in that range. Not really a luxury watch, but still nicely finished with some interesting designs. I’d try to save up a little more. You can get some nice Grand Seikos for about 3k. Omegas are ugly imo, I’d avoid.

Sure, Rolex is a name every normalfag knows, but not that many people are able to immediately recognize one of their pieces IRL.
As for DW, fucking everyone knows what they look like.

I got into wristwatches the entirely wrong way. I started by picking up a Seiko 5, a Vostok, and then a couple of Orients, then I graduated to used Oris and Rado, entry level Swiss watches, plus a couple of G-Shocks. I never spent more than 700 or so on a watch, but after six months I had a box full of unsellable junk and with all the money I spent I could’ve bought a single nice watch, like an Explorer or a Snowflake or something. So the moral is, save up for one nice watch. $1500 is kind of a dead zone desu.

First of don't get a Tag, maybe a Monaco used that's there most iconic watch but it's over your budget.

At $1500, buy a used Oris Aquis, Oris 65 or Big Crown. You can't go wrong with any used Oris really.

Vintage Omega seamaster, it can be a mined field so buy the seller first or Omega seamaster 300m if you can push over 1500.

Longines conquest heritage, if you want something dressy.

Honesty your problem better getting a $400-700 used and saving up for a $4000-5000 watch, that's when you can start getting into some real iconic, speedmaster pro, reversos, lower end vintage rolexs, maybe a Tudor black bay.

Well for the same money you could get a omega or rolex that's the problem with tag, they just uses shit movements for the money they are asking. Google it.

You must be retarded. When you buy a £7-10k watch new your going to take a £3-4k+ bath on it, unless rolex sports and that's only been the last 3 years. It's call weather retention.

It's like buying a car, smart people buy low mileage 2 year old cars. Same for high end watches. Yea that's why I said buy the seller and do your homework, like you should do for any big purchases.

You'll understand when you get out of your parents house.

I don't sell the things that I like. If I buy something it's to keep it until I/it dies. Plus the only reason to buy this shit is because of how it makes you feel and used things just feel wrong to me. You can't put a price on the feeling.

Look shit happens and you might have to sell your watch. If you can only buy a $1500 watch, your shit isn't together. If u have to get out of £20k of watches, I at less want my money back.

Fare enough if you don't "plan" on selling and muh watch feels. I was just trying to advice you in a smart way of going about it.

Buy a tag new, lose 50% of its value in a year, try and scramble the cash together for a Rolex in 3 or 4 years when you get bored of it but remember this thread.

Some people just like to buy new, fare enough, just buy a rolex sports (OP or not) you'll be set. Sometimes you can get a good deal on the grey market (omega, breitling, iwc). I'm not saying you have to buy used, just buy at the right price.
