Depends but it works really well for me. Have always had super dry hair that turns crisp after shampooing. Sometimes I will have to shampoo, but ive heard of people never having to shampoo but i assume that they have thinner or straight hair.

What ive found to be even more god tier is to use conditioner as shampoo. It has just enough alcohol to clean it but it doesnt dry it out.

I had similar length hair and had to tie it up for work so the whole greasy stage wasn't noticeable. Now my hair is chin length its great

Used to be really prone to dandruff and had greasy-ass hair when I used to shampoo. Weaned myself off it over a month when I was 16 and haven't shampooed in 7 years now.

My hair went from being lank and floppy, (ie, flat and falling on my face, impossible to style) to thick and cooperative after going no poo. My hair tends to get a little greasy on hot days, but isn't as bad as when I shampooed, and I haven't had any problems with dandruff since.

Depends on how literally you take no poo.

Never washing your hair ever is bad.

Only washing your hair with water is generally bad unless it's very short, then you might be able to get away with it.

Co-washing can work if you have thicker, coarser hair that is dry more often than it gets greasy and you don't use hair products with silicones or certain oils and waxes and don't live in a very hard water area.

Low poo can be good if you either use no silicone products or water soluble only and don't live in a very hard water area and you don't have very fine, thin hair.


It makes more sense to learn what's in your hair products and what works for you rather than going no poo altogether.
