not really compared to other options in their range. I doubt they're any more/less comfy than an average shoe, but the only truly comfy shoes from rick are probably the birks, or maybe some of the shearling-lined boots he's produced. I have heard that ramones aren't very comfortable though.

Long time rickfag here (sort of) AMA if you want.

Some general tips I learned from experience which give most people stress:

Something that gives people most trouble is shoes sizing: Regardless of what you hear online from weirdos talking about sizing. Rick makes only 2 main footbeds: the rubber one used for Ramones/Geos & the leather one used for boots/dress shoes. If you know your sizing for one of those footbeds, any shoe that uses it will fit the same. (INB4 retards come and claim otherwise)

I highly recommend thinking twice about buying any type of leather sock sneakers, because the leather is extremely thin and is known to rip easily at the heel reinforcement part, especially in newer season iterations. When you put them on, be careful and always grab the leather shortly above your heel and pull it up gently.

Most people buy their shoes WAAAY too big and talk shit about them being 'true to size' and whatnot. You WILL look ridiculous if you buy them too big. Rick shoes ALWAYS run huge and I recommend utilizing half sizes to find the one that you can just wear comfortably. The whole 'clown shoe' meme only came to existence because literally 90% of people buy the shoes way too big for them. If you buy the right size, your foot will fill out the silhouette and they will not look clowny at all. (for reference: I wear a 45 in Nike and 44 2/3 in Adidas and my Ramones/Geos are 42.5)

Don't bling buy anything without checking the material first! Rick makes most models in different material variations and they differ a lot. For example he makes cotton prisoner pants in RN (very thin), BG (medium) or F (very thick). Apart from warmth, this will also determine the way the piece will drape. I've seen countless people regret their buys because they expected a totally different material. Pay attention and always demand to see the inside label to confirm it.

Cheers for the info anon. How do the tractor hiking boots fit? If I am a 42/us9/uk8 how many sizes do I go down? There isn't any store nearby in my country where I could try them on since if they even stock Rick it's just tops

Anyone know if she just wears Ricks durags or sometimes it's something else she uses as a head wrap? I know I've also seen her in a old bandana Rick had. I've heard silk is the way to go but I also like the super sheer look.

Hm, that's one of the things I'm not knowledgeable in since I hate the tractor sole. Generally I think most people should go down at least 1 full size in most Ricks, but it really depends on the shape of your feet. I advise to abuse online retailers with free returns to try them on. Order 2 pairs you think will fit (for example 41 and 40.5 or so) then find the size you need, snd them back and look for them wherever you want. If you happen to have a full size, you can always find most shoes discounted somewhere. If you have a half size, things can get difficult.

So close! Why do Rick’s boots have to run so damn large though? I swear designer shoe sizing is the worst.

I purchased this Rick Owens jacket from an archive store in Tokyo two or three years ago but I've never been able to identify the season. I've only seen it pop up online two or three times. Can anyone give me some info about it? If needed I can provide more pics.

>I swear designer shoe sizing is the worst.
They do it on purpose.

It would be super easy to establish a worldwide norm for shoe sizing or to supply customers with a table of exact insole measurements for each shoe. But by keeping the sizing intentionally vague and inconsistent, they create more sales. There are so many people who buy shoes then 1 month later realize their feet hurt at certain spots or they swim around inside the shoe and need to get a different size, then those shoes end up on 2nd hand platforms and they buy new ones in the correct size. This is an endlessly repeating cycle and designers profit a lot from it.

>>14506700
IMHO definitely an older model, pre-2012, probably much earlier judging from the buttoned shoulder straps. Reminds me of the current 'rotterdam' model which is basically a mix of stooges and the lou jacket. Would be worth taking a look at the inside label. Rick occasionally makes certain models for only 1 or 2 seasons and then never again. Could be one of those.

>> No.14506943

I've loved his designs for quite a while now but I don't own any, where should I start? I don't need any piece in particular but I'm mainly wondering what's popular as a first item from Rick.

>> No.14507002

>>14506943
I think it’s a subjective matter. Rick explored a lot of styles throughout his career. You can actually mix a lot of different stuff from different seasons, and thus you can pursue your personal style. My suggestion is: buy the item you like and want the most, and then go along that line. It should be easy considering that most of Rick’s clothes goes well with his other clothes

This is solid advice. I fell in love with the footwear and started from there. The rest of the wardrobe was built from the feet up.

Still would pay an unreasonable amount of money for ninja creepers in my size. Pretty much accepted at this point I’ll never own them.
