I went to a Cartier AD yesterday to check out the Santos . Its actually pretty nice. I personally liked the white/silver dial much more than the blue which looked a bit cheap. feels really comfortable on wrist.

Not sure if its worth $6850 though considering the other options available at that price range.

Id assume the people in this thread will style an outfit around the watch they pick for that day, as people here are a bit more watch oriented, so I wouldn't say we are the best advice givers there. My only recommendation is not to wear that in a suit or anything overly sporty. While I'm not a fan of how movado almost makes the museum watch exclusively, I think it's still a fashionable piece that dates back 1948 and fits in with casual or mildly dressy wear. Like I said, I'd get a dress watch and field watch for the other separate occasions if needed though.

That sounds good. I don't own a suit or dress jacket whatsoever. I usually dress pretty casually or sporty and I already have a sports watch. This is my first big watch purchase ever so it just made me a little nervous to drop a lot of money on it. Extreme bubble markets. AP as a brand makes overly delicate movements, even in their divers. They both are being hit with insane premiums in the expansion of popularity of steel sports watches, don't even think of buying until that plummets. If you must buy now, go with the VC overseas. Overlooked, more interesting design than the typical port holes and stop signs, and at a significantly lower price. Their popularity is rising however, so they may be very soon to join the other two in the steel sports watch craze.

Can't really generalize the party like this anymore because of how split it is. The center-left faction (Butti, Biden) isn't like this at all and is pretty pro-capital. Butti's policy director is even a former Goldman Sachs exec.

The current Republican admin doesn't seem to me making a huge effort to curve spending to me, nor is he supportive of free trade. He's practically just as bad as the left-wing democrats. I'd vote rep if they nominated Weld.

As a super cheap beater, go for the timex expedition. You have the option to use it as a second time zone display, and it has a rather satisfying rotating bezel for almost no money at all, I use it when I'm doing outdoorsy shit so I dont fuck up anything important.
For a more luxury approach, there are quite a few Omega Speedmasters with the analog digital display that will ensure that you are basically the only person in town with that same watch. I find analog digital watches a little ugly, but I fell in love with the ugliness.

Seems like a good choice. VC is highly underrated comparatively and the overseas is the only of the holy trinity to not get fucked by the luxury stainless steel sports model bubble, but popularity is increasing as a result and I fear that it will soon follow, so when buying that, the sooner the better. I doubt the entire bubble will last too long by now since the nautilus 5711 is selling for an insane 90k second hand, but you still wouldn't want to buy it when it begins to surge in price. Good choice anon, not gaudy or pretentious. It's truly a "if you know, you know" watch. I'd go for it. The price looks good, the watch is a perfect size, everything checks out.

Definitely research the particular reference of that watch and scrutinize each detail side by side with real images, ask for shots of the movement, ask for images of what came with the watch (box and papers, etc.), look for red flags like the seller's country of origin, credentials as the seller, any previous watches sold, and so on. If all of that checks out and you still have a gut feeling, it's worth finding a more trustable seller and paying a (very slight) premium. Always remember, buy the seller before you buy the watch.
