>My consideration was that I will recreate the myth everyone likes. You know the rolex story: "I bought a Rolex explorer in 1982, it was month's salary back in the day but blablabla" So I bought a simple, quality everyday wearer and I settled for the Hamilton Khaki Field 40mm, blue dial, 80 hour power reserve, runs at 3 seconds per day. And my twist: I bought the bracelet from hamilton which does not come with the standard version. The bracelet really brings the watch together, its 170 bucks but its worth it.

Which watch can you do this with today? Obviously not Hamilton like that idiot, but what will still be a good watch in 10 years or more?

In before Rolex.

>The MARQ Aviator has aviation maps, plus "Nexrad Weather Radar, airport information and Garmin cockpit integration."

>The MARQ Driver, with a titanium and silicone band, comes loaded with maps for 250 famous race tracks. It has "auto lap splits, live delta time and a track timer."

>The MARQ Captain, a nautical watch, has a regatta timer bezel, shows wind speed, tide and temperature. It also comes with a port conditions watch face, can show coastal charts and can aid in tack assist.

>The MARQ Expedition connects with Garmin's separately sold satellite communicator, InReach Mini, plus "TOPO mapping, a built-in altimeter, barometer and compass, plus ClimbPro, which provides real-time information on current and upcoming climbs such as gradient, distance and elevation gain."

>The MARQ Athlete is the closest to Garmin's other fitness watches, with VO2 Max readouts and recovery on the watch face, "running dynamics," and pulse oximetry readings.

>Garmin promises 12 days of battery life in smartwatch mode, 28 hours when using GPS and 48 hours in a more battery-saving UltraTrac GPS mode. All the watches are made of titanium with sapphire crystal and ceramic bezels. They have always-on displays, GPS, music playback, heart rate and pulse oximetry, like Garmin's recent fitness smartwatches.

>Did there need to be five? Could there have just been one that did all of these things? How do you choose which super-expensive luxury smartwatch to get? I have no idea, because I haven't worn one yet.

So is there one that does all these things? This shit sounds pretty epic.

Why do rich people have zero taste, anons?

My rich friend wants to spend up to $20.000 on a watch, and the one he laid his eyes on is this atrocious piece of shit. Instead of getting a classic Vacheron, a Lange & Söhne or something, this is what he finds most.

What's the point of this existing for $20k when there are Sinn and Guinand watches that look exactly the same except less gay, that are more durable, have better water resistance, an overall look closer to the Heuer era, and cost $2-3k? Brand recognition not included because literally no one knows what Blancpain is (unless they think they produce fountain pens).

So far I've bought mostly shitters, many are flawed in one way or the other. I've sold them all except for my SKX which despite having a misaligned chapter ring, is running at +1 sec per day.

I grew up wearing casio f91w then some baby g thing then onto gshock dw5600. Recently I've been wanting something analog because I thought it would match with my over all look and age. I bought the Casio diver and it was huge. I can't bring myself to purchasing a seiko, citizen, orient, etc..

I ended up getting a Vostok 120 with a rubber strap and I like it a lot. I plan to wear it until it breaks.

I like the Vostok because most people don't know what the fuck it is. it's low key. it feels nice on my wrist and it seems durable. If it lasts a long time it might just be my new go-to. I guess I'll just have to wait and see how it holds up.

Recently I tried on a Marathon diver with a medium sized case and it was so nice. It felt like Vostok just better in terms of fit and finish. People on the internet have seem to not like them very much. I was wondering if anyone knows if Marathon sucks or what models are worth buying? Or if theres a similar watch out there in the same price range. Something not super mall-tier, leaning more towards utilitarian.

The rep is worth nothing. You’re paying more than it’s worth to service it. Most likely multiple times. A modern gen Rolex has a 10yr service interval and holds it’s value or more if it’s a SS model. That’s not even taking into account the professional models are actually functional unlike their reps. But if you’re just buying on looks then go for the rep. To be honest it doesn’t even need to work. You’ll save even more money if you opt for no movement at all in the case.

You're worth nothing yet you're still yapping. Do you really want your retarded socieconomic theory driven to its logical conclusion? Here it is then: only buy Rolex, because every other watch, fake, real, quartz, or mechanical, is worth nothing, according to the exact same consensus that makes a replica watch "worth nothing", because the only thing that matters about a watch is the status you get from gifting your shekels to the mountain Jews, which they can revoke at any moment. The problem with Marathon is that their "flagship" so to speak, GSAR/CSAR, is XBOXHUGE, it's otherwise a really nice sturdy military chrono/diver, I would say that it's the best possible thing to get if you want that type of watch, it's basically the mechanical G-Shock equivalent. The only problem are the sizes.

Because most people wouldn't care about what they see as long as the watch itself looks pretty, even though most reasonable people can see when something doesn't fit at all.

A person should fit the watch to whatever looks right on him, if you have small wrists wear whatever fits and doesn't have obvious lug overhand/UFO situation. And i've seen people tell limpwrists that the 50mm chinkshit looks like a boat clock anchored on their wrist.

Some quartz analogs can actually do that, I have a Citizen Navihawk that can, but it's fugly and kinda hard to read because it's so busy. A lot of pilots wear GMTs for the same reason, but I don't expect to fly international or even across timezones much for a long time, so it's not a big concern, and a watch with those capabilities would be more like something I'd buy when I get my first big airline position or whatever rather than my graduation watch.
