Maybe I'm the odd man out for thinking that dress watch styles look better when they are more ornate though, like vintage bulova watches. If the quality control and experiences with it are positive from what you can dig up then get it. If it doesnt have sapphire that sucks but it's up to you, I mention that because a lot of russian watch companies have something against sapphire and almost never use it. Knowing modern sturmanskie/strela/poljot it's probably overpriced as hell but its either get something unique that you love or do one of the same 10 go to reasonable safe watches everyone gets under a grand

You could try something blue, it could accent the hands (suede looks nice, but it could be a little bit less durable than regular leather). But don't cheep out and buy fake leather that is cheaply painted. Or just go with regular black. Light brown might also work, because dial is white.

The lugs aren't too big, so you're not actually going to look ridiculous as if the lugs were overhanging your wrist. However, I'd say the watch is pretty eye-catching in terms of proportions. Which might be what you want.
I think it looks good, if it's any worth. I wanted a cartier and tried them on in store but ultimately got a planet ocean because a square watch sucks on my wrist.
