Jesus christ, maxicase is the worst. The left thing looks retarded but in other ways.
Rawleks was and still is a brand for middleclass larpers.
The only good looking, modern rawleks is the yachtmaster 37mm on the comfy silicone bracelet. And i like the thing mostly because of how well the bracelet suits it.
But proportions and color are perfect, imo.

I almost was getting one of these 2 weeks ago. I went to Selfridges in London to look at it.

I would get it 2nd hand if you can because it will lose £400 in value the moment you buy it. But they only just released the 39mm so if you want that one its hard to avoid the cost.

Also the dials look much better in the newer models. Like these watches got really good only 2 years ago. Some of the earlier squre dials look bad and newer ones look great.

Overall I think Maurice Lacroix Aikon is a solid choice. The finish is just outstanding, it is punching above its weight. If you have large enough wrists I think the chrono is less of a royal oak clone and even looks *better* than royal oak offshore. Its like the best bits of royal oak and daytona. just amazing. But only in 44mm.

The only thing that put me off it was discovering the existence of high quality replicas of other watches like Panerai submersible and rolex oyster perpetual in grape.

I still think about the Aikon though. Would be a great watch in a corporate job.

Seiko Tunas are tool watches too, but they have pretty intricate finishing.
Even more so with the new SNR029. That thing is finished to an extreme standard (zaratsu etc.) and only costs 900$ more than the EZM10.

Plus, at that price I could look past the all-matte external finishing if the movement were actually interesting.

This is about the third time I re-serviced this in the past two years. Electronics are sometimes painfully finicky. Now I oiled the geartrain only with light oil (Moebius 9010), and no D5 at all. Hopefully that was the problem, that these low-torque transistorized movements should be oiled more like you would quartz watches, than mechanicals.

However my other 780x has been working perfectly for ever a year now, and so has another one I gave to a friend. So these are just tricky sometimes.
