14437029 No.14437029 [Reply] [Original]

For or against the LGBT movement, the whole move by (most notably, but also among others) Burberry and Versace to the rainbow colours in clothing, subjectively just produces bad clothing that no one wants to wear.

>> No.14437037

>>14437029
Honestly just who would wear this

>> No.14437041

>>14437029
That's the cheapest way to try to rebrand as being young and trying to be cool.
At least make something that somehow is connected instead of simply printing the rainbow.
For example loverboy or even apple making the red iphone, people buy that because they want it, a lot of people don't even know that the red iphone is related to the aids support.

Tbf I didn't know that but also, its a red iPhone, not a full LGBT rainbow iPhone.

I'm not gay but using pride to sell things seems a bit exploitative. Like if you look at pride collections on most major retailers they don't actually donate to any causes or foundations that help LGBT. If they do its a miniscule amount. It's kind of morally bankrupt desu

>> No.14437053

>>14437044
And that's the point that I was trying to make, something that is actually related to the community instead of simply printing the flag.
Is soo fucking lazy.
>>14437046
This, is just trying to profit and rebrand themselves out of nonprofit organizations. A lot of times they say that part of the profits go to one of those groups, but even then you are trying to rebrand as young and hip in the easiest way possible. I don't know, at least make a reference to rupaul drag race, at least shows that you spent more than 5 minutes printing a flag.

Agree it is good for "lgbtq ""streetwear"""

Why did Burberry just completely throw away Christopher Bailey? He turned Burberry into a relevant powerhouse for nearly two decades, and then it felt like they just threw him away.
