The quality of all major clothes brands has decreased tremendeously. Hugo Boss is now made in Turkey, once it was in Germany, Adidas is now made in China, once it was made in Germany, Givenvhy made in China, once if was made in France, Lacoste same story, and there are many more. Even companies who still manufacture their products in the countries where they were established now use inferior materials and less noble production.
Zara is destroyed in a couple of washes, not even mentioning their sweatshops. Are you fucking blind? Why don't people start to look at different options, or invest into quality clothing for fuck sake?
Tailors are becoming extinct, even in Italy business is on it's decline, replaced by cheaper solutions. Why don't people search quality anymore? Just compare quality of your fathers or grandfathers pullover, how durable it is, and look at your cheap shit you bought in Zara or H&M. Poorly made clothes are also a vaste of precious natural resources. It's actually happening in all parts of the industry, for example furniture, computers, phones etc...or people just don't see the difference? People are dumb as fuck.

I try to find mint condition second hand shit. Or I buy some less known brands for which I know that still do quality, but those are dying fast or become cheaper like the rest of them.

They are, but most people buy them, so those companies are making profit for selling garbage. I understand that. I know that companies did this because of capital in it's power. But the thing I don't understand is why people are still buying it anyway? They support those companies and forcing others to do the same if they want to survive. That's why I care,

I have noticed a drop in quality of sneakers in recent years, I bought a pair in 2017 and I used it all the time in fitness, running, walking etc and I had no problems with them, but this year i bought another pair and the quality has decresed, i guess i because they want to make more money and put less money to make them.

I won't post all of them, but I'll post some of them.
For shoes: Luca Rossi, Rossini, Baldinini (well this one is known), but for shoes I think there still are many companies that have standard, so Church's, Gucci, Crokett & Jones. The last three are well known, I know, but they still do the things they should, that's what I want to point out.
For trousers, there is no good brand unfortunatelly that would be known for doing trousers.
For shirts there still are good brands. But Anna Matuozzo, Brioni, Turnbull And Asser. Brooks Brothers, Charles Tyrwhitt, Pink still aren't that well known and presented in the world as they should be.
However, for pullovers I'd choose Paul and Shark or Loro Piana, but I must say that both have decreased in quality as well. There are plenty of Italian brands for pullovers, like Santori, Pal Zileri etc.

Well, it's up to you if you are going to buy them again from same brand. Which brand was it anyway?

>> No.14300730

>>14300694
But this isn't a recent trend. All those stores have sucked for awhile. Their staying power is solely from branding or affordability.

As someone who worked for many years with vintage clothes, there's a very sharp drop in the quality of everyday clothes around late 70s early 80s and a steady decline since then.

Designer stuff fluctuates and doesn't follow the same patterns as mainstream fashion. I wouldn't focus too much on country of origin. These tags can be very misleading, and are less and less an indicator of quality.

i agree with you, but the mentality of people these days isnt the same as generations past. It doesnt make sense for them to spend a lot on quality, because the majority are trend hoppers, and wear something for a few months, then buy the next trendy piece of shit, wear it for a few months, etc. thats why fast fashion is so popular. young people can switch their styles every few months. personally i like to wear the same high quality items for many years, but young people today dont think this way. they would rather buy cheap , poorly made shit and wear it for a short period and throw it away

>> No.14300796

>>14300730
I agree. But how to bring back that quality? Mint condition clothes in vintage shops will become rare. And it gives me anxiety that I can't find a piece of same quality, unless I made it to measure, which is also complicated because of lack of tailors and materials.

>>14300740
I've heard that yes, that some countries import Chinese people to work there. Nothing wrong with Chinese by the way, I'm not saying they can't make same quality, but it's a phrase for sweatshop workers.

Even the materials they are starting to use are differen. I noticed Bugatchi new mens line is made of that fitness stretch material, idk how well it last but its def not how they use to make their button ups, it seems like a cheap move.

Solve overpopulation, consumer apathy, and the need of public corps to constantly prove to investors maximum possible short term earnings.

Moot point. It still feeds into the problem. Overpopulation anywhere = desperate and uneducated workforce that will be exploited by more powerful economies.
