yes but that cultural context is carried in the jacket itself, and the wearer is not required to be a part of the culture the leather jacket comes from. more specifically, a leather jacket looks like something a biker would wear, or a punk, etc. but the wearer of the leather jacket does not need to be a biker or punk to wear one. denim jeans were invented for gold miners in the 1800s, but no one needs to be a gold miner today to wear them. do you have to be a sailor to wear a pea coat? additionally, all sorts of women wear leather jackets, and no one seems to have a problem with that. So why do you feel that only a certain type of man can wear a leather jacket? if you think i'm wrong at least provide an argument or some reasoning rather than the dogmatic bullshit being spewed throughout this thread.
