So I understand that you should shampoo black hair like once every 1-1.5 weeks. But that the fuck do you do on non wash days? Just put a lot of water in it? Or will that fuck it up.

yes, just rinse with water, cleanse scalp with conditioner if needed, i never use shampoo as it detangles/loosens the curls and makes ur hair all frizzy and limp

Fuck, I thought conditioner wasn’t supposed to go in your scalp. Also for me when I use shampoo my hair actually gets curly. But I also use a conditioner right afterwards so that could be why.

i use conditioner to clean so i prefer to get in all in the roots and scalp to cleanse and then thoroughly wash it out, and long as ur not leaving it there caked up i think it should be fine, but again it depends on how naturally oily ur scalp is in the first place, it it's super oily u should skip it and just moisturize the ends, and just thoroughly rinse the scalp with water to clean

i find that even when i do go shampoo+conditioner, the curls are still too frizzy and stringy for my liking, so i just cut it out of my routine completely, and just rinse with water, and maybe cleanse with conditioner every 1-1.5 weeks
