I can't think of the right word but I know what you're trying to say.
Slim suits look awful and make you look like you're dressing up in a costume. A well fitting, tailored to your body rather than just slim for slim's sake, suit will always look good and always have it's applications.

Lawyers will always wear a suit to court, when meeting with clients, etc. Consultants and financial people will always wear suits. Upper level management will always wear suits. The suit isn't going anywhere.

From what I see, the death of the suit is down to greed, in that a lot of suits aren't cut for shape or comfort, they're cut to be absolutely any shape with as little material as possible, so long as it roughly resembles a suit.

1 Americans cut -baggy relaxed
2 British cut -less baggy more fitted
3 Italian cut -very fitted streamlined

Americans cut is mostly out of style today and you see more Italian style but this is just a trend. There’s a reason why US/UK 40 is not the same as EU/IT 40, a IT 40 will fit more like a US 38
