Questions That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread

>> No.14174372

How challenging is it to get into tailoring/altering your own clothing? Is it worth the hassle? I am broke so I can't take everything I cop to a tailor. Any insight welcome.

I have a similar question to >>14174372
I want to buy some hoodies with simple embroidery, yet I think it would be much cheaper and more fun to buy blank/basic hoodies and embroider myself.
My sister’s sewing machine (who moved out) is still at my house, and she has no need for it. How challenging it? and what do I need to know beforehand?

I’m hoping to do some cool Wu-Tang piece that I can post on here when I’m done... Then inevitably get shit on since it’s 4chan

Just a heads up, wu tang stops being cool around sophomore year of college. Good luck, be safe out there

When do you decide to throw/give clothes away? I have a few that are starting to wear off, they still look decent enough to wear but I feel a tad shabby around other people in them.

Does anyone where I can get art hoe-esque patches like pic related to sew on my own clothes? Also is there a certain type of patch that I have to use or will any work?

w2c a good looking, sub-$100 thin-ish raincoat and/or windbreaker for the upcoming Spring/Summer? What companies should I look into? Recently picked up something from REI, but it's a bit heavy/kind of unbreathable and isn't really a Spring item.

You can do it if the machine has an embroidering option (that's the easy way) If not, there's different sewing options that can help you get what you want, since it's not possible with just a straight sew.

>>14175776
You can look for print shops near you and ask transfer print (polyester only) or print in dtg in any cotton fabric (I'd suggest doing it the heavier kind). You can use any image you want.

>>14175931
Flannel lmao
You can buy those practically everywhere

>>14176591
There's no secret to the fit, wear them however you want... Too loose/ tight or too long would look awkward. If you want to look less casual than you'd do with jeans then go with chinos. I'd say just buy black denim.

>>14176635
Work on other things you can take advantage on.... I think longer hair would make it more noticeable.

>>14176619
It totally depends on what you're looking for. I'd say buy something surplus / a nylon bomber.

I'd say something not too sporty, but fairly casual/easy. Something with a hood, too.

It takes practice and patience. Get something cheap to practice on first before ruining something you really like, but plan to actually wear the results so that you try hard and don't just muck around. There are loads of videos and articles to get you started on whatever you want to try but learning as you go is really the only way. It helps if you have someone to show you in person (elderly friend or relative? ...)

I usually wear Levi 502s in a light blue wash but recently I've been wanting to cop a pair of black jeans. I tried the same size and style in black but it looked WAY baggier than the blue denim.
Should I get a slimmer fit for black denim? I'm already skinny and I'm worried it'll make me look skinnier. What do?
