it really is a meme, new batches are absolute dog horse shit in terms of longevity and performance. Beware of testers and any Creed sold on ebay. Easily the most fakes for a fragrance in the last 3 years. Better buy Al Haramain - L'Aventure as it wasn't memed in tripling it's price like CDNIM. Apart from the pineapple opening, and that's like 5 minutes tops there is not distinct difference.

If you've never tried m04 you really have no idea. The stuff simply can't be washed off. You could triple scrub your application points with three different kinds of soap and it would still persist. One reason why I don't wear it often is that the lingering scent on the nozzle overwhelms every other bottle in my frag cabinet. When I walk in the front door this afternoon I fully expect to smell Molecule 04 from 30 feet away. It's truly the most potent perfume you can buy. Good thing it layers nicely with most masculine scents because one application stays with you for several days.

Smelled it today, really nice, maybe a bit too one dimensional, if a had to find something that’s wrong with it.

Any opinions on Versace Eros Flame? Thought the flacon looked tacky, tested it and was overwhelmed by the orange intro. For some reason i really dig it though...
If i’d buy it I’d exclusively use it for clubbing/dinner with friends etc. performance is just ridiculous on this one. Do you think it’ll stick out be a mismatch to my style that’s usually more classic (think Barbour Jacket/ Tweed items...)?

I'm assuming you mean AHS Eau Extreme and not the OG sport, which is also good but past it's prime. EE is fantastic, great versatility, projects strong for the first hour or two and then stays on the skin for a long time. Sauvage is a bright, peppery fresh citrus scent that comes off a little sharp or some might say screechy. AHSEE is a semi-fresh scent that gets its freshness from mandarin and mint, with a dry tonka note that gives it this gorgeous velvety smooth texture. Most girls I've worn it around say it smells incredible. Especially on a warm, humid summer night. If you want something sexy to that you can wear anytime in any situation, it would make a very solid choice.

Recommendations for a 'woody', cedar or Oud like fragrance that might be a little off the wall?

Not exactly off the wall but so far I've tried Original Santal and liked that, but thought I'd see what else was out there. I think I'd like Royal Oud too and people say that's beter than OS, even though there doesn't seem to be any Oud in there at all. Wouldn't surprise me if there was something better I can get without paying the 'Creed tax'.

I'm not a fan of Tobacco Oud, tried that and it was a bit 'odd' in the wrong way imo. Do you think I might like some of the Amouage frags like Interlude, Epic or Jubilation XXV? I'll go find some samples of whatever you recommend and decide from there.

Hmm.
Royal oud is pretty uninteresting and sweet on me - kind of classic and formal as well. Not sure what you mean by off the wall but Comme des Garcons is known for having a more avant garde style and they have some great woody scents. I really enjoy wonderwood and hinoki, but I have heard good things about Sequoia and wonderoud as well.

You mentioned tobacco oud so I assume you have tried oud wood.

>> No.14145121

>>14145090

I have, but I can't remember what it's like because I was an idiot and just grabbed a whole heap of TF frag samples in the one go. Is it a bit less 'risque' than Tobacco Oud? I do remember not liking that one. I'll definitely try OW on it's own to be sure.

>>14145099

To be honest I'm not sure if I should go with something really weird when combined with the woody notes or something more plain and just focusing on the wood notes. The CdG frags are worth checking out though, least I won't have to pay through the nose like with TF or Creed.

Anyway thanks for the recommendations /frag/. Have either of you tried the Montale "Aoud" frag? (forgot the exact name) or that Tauer desert mocosain one or whatever it's called.

OW is pretty safe. Spicy cardamom, dry wood, and a slight dirtiness from the oud. When i was first getting into fragrances I turned my nose up at it but now its a favorite of mine.

CdG is unconventional but I wouldn't say they are "really weird" or "risque." Check out the notes of the ones I recommended and try the ones that sound nice. Wonderwood is very wearable and has actually garnered some rare compliments. Hinoki is weird in the sense that its not perfume-like at all. Its not going to offend anybody like heavy oud or a musk might, but they might be surprised its a cologne when they ask what that smell is. Its like lumber that has been hewn, but not yet dried, still full of its camphorous oils. Fucking beautiful imo. I need a bottle.

Advice needed. This is my collection (started last year):
>Prada L'Homme as my daily office frag
>AdP to occasionally mix it up going into the office, or for going out during the day
>L'Occitan was my first frag, love it but it doesn't last long, it used to be my driver before I started buying my other stuff, kinda going unused rn
>Zara Vibrant Leather was $3, bought it to see if it really was a decent Aventus clone, I'd say it's not. Gonna throw it away
>Guerlain is my only proper night scent, girls love it, gotten me a bunch of compliments, lasts forever

So can you tell me what I'm missing in my collection? Maybe another night scent, something elegant? Willing to pay $200 or even more, rec me something.

I'm turning 26 later this month and I live in the South of England with warm to hot summers and mild otherwise, ocassionally the winter will be kinda cold.
I dress in either a smart casual or a laidback kinda aesthetic with palewave hoodies, light wash jeans etc.
I do like the smell of vetiver based on what I've tried (the vetiver in BDC, Grey Vetiver EDP and even Lynx's You bodywash) yet I'm not sure if it suits my calm, kind personality.
My other favs are tobacco and slightly sweet notes like Pure Tonka. I tried Ferragamo Uomo but it was too sweet.
Not too keen on Sauvage or Dylan Blue even if Sauvage EDP was ok on my skin. It got attention when I tested it but I smell it so much at work its a meme for me.
I don't mind saving up and getting a bottle of something niche like Tam Dao, Tom Ford, Amouage if you guys feel it suits me, but I'd like a daily driver I don't have to worry about the cost of.

Try Chanel Sycomore. Smooth vetiver like that in Grey Vetiver, with a slight tobacco note, and you might even get some sweetness from the sandalwood. I think it suits warm weather and a white tee kinda look well.

So, I just had a very strange interaction.

I went to the supermarket, I was wearing 2 sprays of Tam Dao. One on my throat, one on my chest beneath my shirt and coat. Not exactly a “challenging” scent, and not exactly Chad miasma-level projection. I get my shit and I get in line behind this older lady with a “let me speak to the manager” haircut.

Immediately, this lady starts looking around, spots me, and tells me to go to another register because my cologne is too strong and I stink. I said no, because it was the shortest line and I had already started putting my shit on the conveyor. Lady slams her hand down, and yells “that fucking shit should be illegal!” then makes a big show of coughing, pulling a scarf out of her purse, and holding it against her nose.

When I got to the front, the cashier asked what that was about. I told him apparently she did not care for my cologne. He laughed and called her a bitch.

Fuckin’ people, man.

4) Santa Maria Novella Patchouli
5) Parfums de Marly Carlisle

Two blue bottle masculines for everyday and warm weather wear, two minimalist woods, and a woody-spicy for occasions and dates. S-rank performance from all except BdC EdP, which is still decent. Oud is a very polarizing note with a very small margin that actually enjoy it's scent. That's why you find that perfume houses just throw in the name and recreate combining different woods and spices that is resembling of a very mass pleasing `oud scent`. I've sampled both fragrances that just have oud in their name and some that contain oud, and well shockingly the ones with the oud in the name are much more crowd pleasing and easy to wear. If you'd like to sample some, i'd start with Yves Saint Laurent M7 Oud Absolu; Armani Eau de Nuit; Versace Oud Noir, Montale Black Aoud, Creed Royal Oud; 24 gold. The only Oud fragrance that I smelled and actually had oud in its note breakdown was Atkinsons His Majesty The Oud and you could immediately sense the choking aspect of a oud note.

>is a blind buy on testers
testers are a few ml (between 1-5 usually) of the actual fragrance, so it's not a blind buy. You get the testers, try them out for a while and then make an informed decision. You should wear the frag and continually smell yourself throughout the day to see how it evolves and to test longevity. Spraying it on your wrist is a good way to do that.

My local shops have almost everything I could want, so when I'm nearby I just pop in, spray my two wrists with 2 different frags and then evaluate them throughout the rest of the day.

^^^Sorry, was just checking, my internet has been screwed up

Long time lurker first time poster. got a 2.5ml sample of pic related on ebay and its still there if anyone is interested. I like vanilla scents and have quite a few.

Lune Feline: Very sweet vanilla but high quality and not synthetic, smells very similar to genuine vanilla extract. Followed close behind are woody notes. Peru balsam is apparently a prominent note but I'm not quite sure how to differentiate it from woody notes because I haven't smelled it isolated. Cinnamon is definitely obvious but not "too much". Light musk but gives it much needed masculinity. This leans feminine despite claiming unisex. Wonderful smell but glad I got a sample. Overall a great vanilla woody gourmand though, projection is light to moderate. Hopefully a good first review by me, fellas

>> No.14153086

>>14143781
Admittedly the opening is pretty fucking great, but the dry down smells like wood chips. Do you want to pay $250 to smell like woodchips? If you REALLY like the smell, get it, but don’t blind buy because of the hype. If you’re just looking to smell good and aren’t a niche shop or creed fanboy (which I assume you are not, lest you wouldn’t be on a Hungarian meatpacking forum asking about the most popular niche on the market), you will do just as well with Dior or Chanel for less than half of what you’d pay for that tester. And that’s at retail.

If you are from Europe, Creed is a 'luxury' brand and is only found in high end niche perfumeries or luxury stores like Harrods in London. If you are from the USA I heard they have Creed at Macys or Nordstrom lol.
Best way to sample Creed fragrances is to order small decants online (you should have at least a Notino as they are everywhere in Europe) or if you are traveling to Asia, chose a layover in a arab country (Qatar is the GOAT for fragrances).
