What is the most fa vodka in the upper middle class tier (not too pleb, not outlandishly expensive) to impress the house guests?

I heard some good things about chopin, ketel one, and such, but they seam a bit gay.

Is Grey Goose too douchey? What about Belvedere?

all vodka is the same. It's all neutral spirit, with the only difference being some brands which distil their own run the tails and heads too long, or don't filter the product. You can run the cheapest vodka through canvas and charcoal a few times, and it's automatically the same as any other type.
You could run a blind taste test of three chilled shots under three false labels, all the same product, and people would think they're different based in brand cues and mental associations.
If you want to try real variety, get into brandy and whisky, and find who makes the product and is it's rebranded from a different product line. There's only a very tiny handful of distillers in the US and they are all giants that put the same shit in different bottles.

Belvedere to me associates with nasty ass cigarettes.

And if you really want to impress them, do so with fat pets, then ethnic/niche cooking, then knowledge and stories, then regional wine, then liquor. Here's a starter kit;
>varietal merlot for general use
>cab. for garlic heavy dishes. the tannins are off putting for non-spiced food.
>buttery chardonay for general use and dairy dishes, not citrusy.
for liquor
>cheap as your sister vodka. Price is by the ml. This is for mixers, cocktails.
>same for gin, filter it yourself
>brandy, don't pay too much, as the french are keen on the American system of distillation and export like 96% of their product. They drink scoth whisky as a rule.
>bourbon
>scotch. Get a small dose first to see if you like phenol. If not, don't buy more.

Get Grey Goose first, big bottle. Fill it with Popov every time you run out. Nobody can tell. Popov is good.

oh. then go with grey goose and refill it with cheaper vodka when it's low. If you really want to fuck with them, pull out a mason jar full of vodka and refuse to tell them where you got it. People love that 'forbidden fruit' aspect of moonshine. It makes them feel 'authenitc' or whatever.
