Howdy, my name is Kentaro "Kent" Ishihara. I'm a 67 year old Japanese IVY BOY (American Traditionalist Clothing fan for you foreigners). I am about to retire from the Tokyo main office of a major Japanese corporation, and spend my days perfecting the craft and enjoying superior TRAD passtimes. (golf, driving, reading old issues of FREE AND EASY) I wear my VAN JAC oxford buttondown every day, this shirt has a tasteful collar roll, no sleeve placket buttons, and a 3-button collar as according to the tenets of the truth revealed by Ishizu Kensuke (pbuh), and is vastly superior to any other oxford shirt ever made. I made the jump to the IVY LOOK nearly 50 years ago, and I have been getting better every day. I speak English very very badly, both New England and Yale dialect, and I write incomprehensibly as well. I know everything about American history and their AMERICAN TRAD code, which I follow 100% When I get my American visa, I am moving to New Haven to work at the J Press store to learn more about their magnificent culture. I hope I can become an employee at CABLE CAR CLOTHIERS or ANDOVER SHOP! I own several Brooks Brothers "Ichigata" type 1 jackets, which I wear around town. I want to get used to wearing them before I move to America, so I can fit in easier. The young employees at my company think I am a silly old man and neither I nor them can speak English very well, but rarely does anyone manage to respond, because they only wear Uniqlo. Wish me luck in America!

I bought two Kamakura oxfords recently and I'm very happy with them, they're the nicest oxfords I own. They have very detailed sizing charts and conversions to other brands' sizing, so I just converted using the charts and some existing BB shirts I have and the sizing was correct on both.

Their "slim fit" isn't really slim, it's more like a BB regent fit which is perfectly fine. I'm not particularly slim and the shirts aren't skintight, I can move freely without pulling it loose, I don't have to do any complicated tucking to keep the shirt from billowing out everywhere.

That guy's shirt is too big, he's swimming in the sleeves and has enough material at the back to make another shirt.

Does anyone else feel that BB tends to have slightly longer sleeves? I have some OCBDs from RL, BB, and other sundry manufacturers (Arrow, Kamakura, old GANT, SERO, some weird local clothiers etc) and I notice that BB consistently has longer sleeves for the same sleeve size, for stuff made in the 1960s-1990s. Is this just the body being baggy?

I don't think this is trolling there are genuinely people who think a polo shirt, the most inoffensive item of clothing in history is role playing. This is a board where 19 year olds dress up like Scarface and streetwear ninjas but for some reason the idea you might wear chinos is just beyond the pale absurd. I'm from upper middle class Ausfailia where this shit is just bread and butter but I guess flyover America is something else

Its instilled into people that clean cut khakis, blazer and OCBD = elitist drone thanks to the vestiges of boomer media. However, its absurd in our times when you take into account that 99% of people wear slim fit ASOS jeans and north face jackets or larps as mac demarco, and understated but well-groomed style is practically a form of rebellion

I honestly came to appreciate ivy/trad style not because I wanted to larp as a princeton grad from 1959 but simply because I wanted a wardrobe of high quality lifetime buys and those pieces inevitably happen to be ivy league menswear or adjacent to it in some way. It was either autistically educate myself on a Mercer collar roll or get forever duped with chinese manufactured, elastene riddled SEXcore fits

Goes deeper than that. Not a /pol/fag but that stuff is synonymous with WASPdom and the amount of Jewish resentment against that stuff is off the charts. Some Jews like Ralph Lauren embraced it and wanted to be a part of it, others like say the creators of Caddyshack, Jordan Belfort or other Jewish notables have a searing hatred for it. Caddyshack is a great case study in Jewish resentment of what is perceived as Anglo privilege.
