Exploring APO inspired by Tom Ford summer frags. Can't decide if I prefer Grand Soir or Mandarino di Amalfi. Both are super snice. I'll try to compare them hand in hand with originals if my John Lewis has them. Despite the result, I might buy a full bottle. I got officially /oil'ed/ and kinda grateful for that.

Can someone please help me because I don't know if I'm retarded or not. I bought Versace Dylan Blue and Nautica Voyage blind because there's nowhere around me to test and I was told they are safe bets. They arrived today and both smell horrible. All their packaging looks legit, but with Nautica, all I smell is a very alcohol-y scent, and it gets incredibly weak after 10mins. I don't smell any citrus to it. I heard it's one of the best gym scents, but it smells nothing like I thought it would. It also gave a very plastic-y drydown. So then I tried Dylan Blue, and this too smells very nauseating. It's very heavy with no lightness to it. It has that dry deodorant smell to it. I'm really not a picky person but I genuinely can't see anyone wearing these scents.
Is my nose just fucked? Or was I sold fake juice? My mother got a perfume from the same site just yesterday and hers smelled fine.

It's great, I think Ginepro di Sardegna is most criminally underrated part of the Blu Meditterraneo collection and has by far the best longevity in a collection notorious for good scents but poor longevity. It's a refreshing Mediterranean scent but not an exclusively for summer one like the others. It's been in my spring and summer rotations for the last two years but is still very wearable for early autumn and late winter. It's really must-try if you like juniper-based scents.

>>14062085

Generally in summer but depends. I don't like the fig note in it but I think that was just on my skin, it isn't an offensive smell in any way really. Probably quite refreshing to smell on other people in the hottest part of the year.

Have you thought about trying Colonia Essenza instead? I felt the same about the original Colonia and that has much better longevity. It's probably my most regularly worn frag for most of the spring and summer. Although I don't own it, I've gone through a few samples and Colonia Assoluta is good too. It's more contemporary and one of the better orange-based scents in that part of the market although doesn't last as long as Essenza.

Should be samples around on eBay, failing that they usually give you free 1.5mls if you ask in an AdP concession.

Cedro di Taormina and Bergamotto di Liguria are both good. Maybe a bit too much of a BDC-like vibe with the former but again as with most of the collection, performance and longevity isn't great. Mirto di Panarea isn't bad either but it's too feminine really. The Colonia Concentree collection is good, but depends if you want to pay extra for what's really an overpriced collection. I have Ambra, but Oud, Leather and Sandalo are all good as well. I have the EDT and have sampled them side by side a few times. They are nearly indistinguishable to me in terms of notes, but I would agree the EDP seems a bit richer. EDP may perform slightly better, but debatable if it justifies the additional coin.

Both really are fine for spring and even early summer until it starts getting warm. But for a frag that's fairly expensive whichever version you get and to squeeze just a bit more performance out of it probably the EDP. Shop around though and try discounters first. Generally there isn't much difference with the retail price but you might save a small amount. If you're really put off by the price you can just get the EDT 50ml version which tends to be a lot cheaper. Sample both versions first though.

>>14063486

Yeah, it's surprisingly well liked by normies too. It's a main part of my winter rotation and has gotten far more compliments than any other frag I wear during autumn/winter. There's better alternatives out there like PdM Herod, TF Tobacco Vanille, Evody Noir d'Orient and Amouage Journey Man but they're much more expensive and SB Extreme holds it's own against them. See >>14063243 for my commentary on the price. EDT lasts all day on me, but I'd say its a personal fragrance by design. Don't expect people to smell you.

But I struggle as much with Amouage, I have Jubilation but that's the only buy really. Epic is good but not quite enough to buy, Reflection would be a natural second buy but the longevity isn't good enough for the price in a genre there's much better ones around for more and less than Reflection. I buy PV because I was pleased with the original Pineapple Vintage and have kept buying their releases since they are mostly Very Good. Evolution de l'Homme Soir is very much a blue bottle masculine citrus-vetiver-juniper stunner, and it has completely erased my urge to purchase Roja Elysium. Again, very pleased. $250 saved.

I'm wearing Sandal Amber now, and it reminds me of several other orientals in my 300+ bottle collection. It's an extremely comfy patchouli-vanilla-amber-resin scent for rainy weather. For 40% off of the Tom Ford, I'm very pleased. Evolution de l'Homme Soir is very much a blue bottle masculine citrus-vetiver-juniper stunner, and it has completely erased my urge to purchase Roja Elysium. Again, very pleased. $250 saved.
What is it about high quality clones that triggers you into spouting brainlet takes like "nobody could actually like this stuff, they must obviously be paid shills"?

Prada l'homme is great but some find it a bit cloying, I wouldn't say it was particularly citrusy and it's not marine like either. As someone said, Aqua Amara might do what you want, Aqua Atlantique could also be a good choice. For more citrusy in that price range check out Ferrari Bright Neroli or Mugler Cologne.

Anyone had any experience with CDG's Floriental?
Would it be too feminine to wear to a dinner in a restaurant? With a sweater, smart trousers and black stan smiths? The outfit I was thinking of wearing to it and I'd like a frag that goes with the mostly black yet casual aesthetic.
Since I liked this plum soap I got for christmas, I wondered if its a frag worth sampling.
